    Senior Learning & Development Specialist 1

    The role - What are the main tasks and responsibilities of this job?    

    • Audits, completion of training matrix forms i.e. gap analysis vs. job requirements.
    • Prepare and implement training budget, estimate the cost of all training interventions and keep expenses within budget.
    • Ensure that training needs as per the approved plan are completed by the end of the company's financial year.
    • Maintain BEE report and Employment Equity report for training.
    • Compiling and submission of all required reports i.e. Annual Training Report and Workplace Skills Plan. 
    • Monitor mandatory and discretionary grants.
    • Company accreditation and re-accreditation.
    • Communicating SETA. initiatives, grants and benefits to the employer and training committee members.
    • Assist training committee and ensure all training related issues are attended to.
    • Ensure quarterly receipt of results timeously and the evaluation of quarterly results.
    • Register Learnerships, Apprentice, mentors, request workplace approval from the SETA.HR with Apprentice Meetings and arrangements
    • Reconciliation of grant payments and tranche payments
    • Maintain proper administration and reporting of training interventions
    • Acting as a liaison between Epiroc and Sector Education Training Authority (SETA).

    Competences, skills and experience    

    • Tertiary qualification in Skills development Facilitation (NQF 5/6)
    • Learning and Development administration or equivalent
    • 5  years' experience within Skills Development Facilitation
    • 5 years working experience dealing with the MERSETA
    • Knowledgeable and interested in systems and reporting
    • Experience in systems used by the SETA
    • Local legislation knowledge
    • Understanding of the Skills Development Act and its implications
    • Experience with Cornerstone or other learning management systems / HCM software
    • Proficient in Microsoft 365
    • Fluency in English is a key requirement, 
    • Knowledge in agile methods

    What would be successful behaviors for this position?    

    • Tertiary qualification in Skills development Facilitation (NQF 5/6)
    • Learning and Development administration or equivalent
    • 5  years' experience within Skills Development Facilitation
    • Responsible, accountable and ability to work independently under  pressure
    • Strong communication skills, both speaking, writing and reading
    • Excellent coordination skills, a service mindset and a 'can-do' attitude
    • Proactive problem-solver with the end-user's best interest in mind
    • Ability to prioritize tasks and meet conflicting deadlines

    • Work as OneHR
    • Collaborate, network, influence and build relations to ensure alignment and excellent learning opportunities
    • Create and drive strategic initiatives to ensure regional fulfillment of global KPIs for L&D
