    Senior Manager, m2mSLS

    Key Performance Areas: 

    Leadership and Management:

    • Set a clear strategic direction for the m2mSLS unit, aligning it with the organisation's goals and objectives.
    • Recruit, lead, and retain a high-performing team of professionals within the m2mSLS unit. Foster a collaborative and innovative work environment.
    • Establish and communicate key performance indicators (KPIs) for the SLS team. Regularly assess and report on the team's performance against these KPIs. 
    • Provide constructive feedback and coaching to team members to drive continuous improvement.
    • Create a framework for managing freelancers / contract workers / consultants effectively, ensuring that they are utilised efficiently and aligned with project needs. 
    • Implement agile resource management practices to adapt to changing project requirements.
    • Stay informed about industry trends and the competitive landscape in the field of smart learning solutions.
    • Collaborate with the Senior Innovation Scientist and Director – Innovation and Digital Transformation to gather insights that inform the design and evolution of the m2mSLS.

    Design and Development:

    • Shape and evolve the organisation's approach to smart learning practices, ensuring that these principles are consistently integrated into m2m's curricula. 
    • Foster innovation and creativity in curriculum design.
    • Plan, allocate resources, and structure the development of multiple curricula in alignment with organisational objectives. 
    • Oversee the development timelines, scope, and quality of m2mSLS offerings.
    • Manage the development of unit processes and guidelines that support curriculum development, i.e. content development process roadmap, guidelines for creating various resources such as notes, assessments, and so forth. 
    • Establish and oversee quality assurance processes within the team to ensure that all curricula meet best practice standards.
    • Incorporate insights from user testing into the curriculum development process, ensuring that the learning solutions are user-friendly and effective.
    • Inform the intellectual property (IP) policy and oversee the content licensing and permissions process, ensuring compliance with legal requirements and protection of intellectual property.
    • Collaborate closely with the Communications team to maintain accurate positioning of the m2mSLS, articulate its unique selling points (USPs), and ensure effective communication to stakeholders.

    Learning Technology:

    • Foster seamless collaboration between the Learning Design Specialist, Totara TXP Administrator and in-house Totara Support Team, to ensure integration of technological innovations into the learning solutions effectively.
    • Support the implementation of an innovative digital content strategy, collaboratively with Totara TXP Administrator and in-house Totara Support Team.

    Quality Assurance and Quality Improvement:

    • Ensure that all curricula are subject to regular review and improvement cycles. 
    • Collaborate with learning analytics and the m2m training teams to collect and analyse feedback for course enhancements.
    • Support management of the asset tracking process meticulously, ensuring that all resources and content are accounted for; and oversee royalty payments as applicable.

    Project Management:

    • Manage the development of comprehensive work plans for curriculum design projects, outlining clear objectives, milestones, timelines, and resource allocation.
    • Execute projects efficiently, ensuring that curriculum designs are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget. Identify and address bottlenecks promptly and implement corrective actions as needed.
    • Employ project management methodologies and tools to track project progress, manage risks, and ensure successful project outcomes.

    Budget Setting and Management:

    • Collaborate with the Director of Programmes and Technical Support to set the annual budget for the m2mSLS Unit. 
    • Ensure that the budget aligns with strategic objectives and operational needs.
    • Manage the unit's budget effectively, monitoring expenditure, and ensuring responsible financial management.

    Job Requirements

    Qualifications and Experience:

    • Bachelor’s degree, plus 5+ years of relevant experience in learning design / learning and development, public health, education, or a related field. Masters Degree preferred.
    • 3+ years in a mid-senior role with team leadership/management experience.
    • Demonstrated success in learning design, and a functional understanding of learning technology.
    • Demonstrated experience in online and blended learning methodologies, and how this is translated into capacity building in low tech and last mile communities and contexts.
    • Project management experience, and the ability to develop and manage budgets.
    • Knowledge of public health-related topics is desirable.
    • Demonstrated experience in quality assurance and quality improvement.
