Senior Specialist: Data Management and Governance Lead at Vito Solutions

JOB OVERVIEW:

The incumbent reports to the Group Data Office and will be dedicated to a specific business unit in support of their Data Management and Data Governance initiatives. 

The incumbent will be leading a team of specialists in support of Data Office activities. The incumbent is responsible for oversight of all data-related activities that have been defined as part of the business unit data strategy which includes but is not limited to Data Governance, Data Management, Data Architecture, Data Modelling and Design, Data Quality and Health, Data Policies, Data Standards, Data Privacy, Data Valuation and tracking of data KPIs/OKRs. 

The incumbent is responsible for managing and overseeing operational teams that are dedicated to the respective business unit which includes the Master Data Management function. The incumbent will work directly with stakeholders across all lines of business. The incumbent should also help define and drive strategic imperatives to unlock the value of data within the business unit.

• Develop strategies and initiatives to improve overall data quality, improve processing times and anticipate future needs
• Ensure master data integrity, quality, compliance, and consistency across organizational systems
• Work with business units and process experts to resolve master data issues
• Ensure metadata is consistently defined across all work streams with no redundancy and clarity for use
• Drive data life cycle management.
• Manage and oversee multiple cross-functional teams.
• Contributes to tooling and standards to improve the productivity and quality of output of data
• Shares knowledge and contributes to solution application development on multiple large-scale, business-critical systems.
• Creates solution artifacts and presents them to business and technology leaders.
• Engages and partners with architecture teams to clearly understand the system design and roadmap.
• Collaborates with the Enterprise Architecture team to conceptualize, design, and implement application and data architecture.
• Leads and facilitates all technical and data aspects of data-related initiatives.
• Analyses and translates business needs into long-term solution data models.
• Draft, maintain, and execute data strategy within the business unit.
• Contributes towards data governance and data quality best practices including design reviews, unit testing, code reviews, and continuous integration and deployment.
• Evaluates implemented data systems for variances, discrepancies, and efficiency.
• Maintain an up-to-date data inventory for all business-critical data within the BU.
• Report back on data health to Business Unit and Group Data Governance forums.

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:

Relevant Degree (Computer Science or IT Engineering preferred)

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

• 8+ years of working experience in a technical data environment with at least 2 years of relevant Data Governance and Data Management experience
• Experience in Data Quality, Data Architecture, Data Modelling and Design, Data Storage and Operations, Data Security, Data Integration, and Interoperability
• Experience in Document and Context Management, Reference and Master Data, Data Warehousing and Business Intelligence, Metadata, Data Integrity, and Data Governance
• Experience in Data Lifecycle Management, Customer Data Management, Data Availability, Data Attribute, Data Cleansing, Data Control, Data Integration, Data Liberation
• Experience in Data Lineage, Data Masking, Data Profiling, Data Proliferation, Data Purging, Data Risk Management, Strategy, Project Management, Privacy Control, Single source of Truth, and System of Record
