Shift Leader – Tool Room at Defy Appliances

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Tool Room Planning.
• Control and coordinate activities of the Tool Room.
• Ensure projects dates and timing plans are meet.
• Ensure Tool maintenance plan and repairs are completed for production demand.
• Allocate tasks and responsibilities to relevant Tool Makers.
• Ensure Tool Makers adhere with Defy disciplinary code and hold them 5responsible for ill discipline.
• Create flow charts to control work of projects.
• Liaise with outsource Tool Room’s and Jacobs Tool Room in connection with assistance to modify or Manufacture new parts.
• Assist and advise Tool Makers with repairs and modification to Tooling.
• Liaise with purchasing department on purchasing spares parts, consumables and stock items.
• Compliance with OHS Act and educate and train employees on machine safety.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

• Matric with Maths.
• Technical Drawing, N4, Trade tested.
• 15-20 years’ experience in the Manufacturing and Maintenance of press tooling and plastic injection moulds.
• 5 years’ experience in programming a wire cutter and milling machine using Edgecam.
• Programming punch press’s using Alfa -cam.
• Ability use NX and inventor design packaging’s to manufacture and modify cad models designed on these packages.
