Special Needs Au Pair | Stellenbosch at Au Pair Extraordinaire

Duties: 

• Collect from school, Take to extra-murals, Assist with and supervise homework, Engaging in intellectually stimulating play & activities with child, Prepare meals for your children, Occasional Babysitting and weekend work (by prior arrangement)
• He is able to communicate verbally however it is limited, he is able to communicate his needs.
• He does get frustrated due to not being able to express himself properly however no out of the ordinary behavioural issues to be aware of.

Special Requirements: 

• Full-time professional female Au Pair, ideally older than 26 years.
• Must live in Stellenbosch or Somerset West area.
• Teacher qualification or experience preferred, but not essential.
• Must be fluent in English (Although we are Afrikaans, our little one commutates better in English).
• Experience working with children on the Autism spectrum.
• Must have a valid driver’s license and roadworthy car.
• Must be reliable, open and honest.
• High level of patience and adaptability: The ability to remain calm and flexible when dealing with challenging behaviours or unexpected situations.
• Be able to create a safe space: Warm and affectionate but be able to set and enforce clear boundaries.
• Providing support and care while also allowing age-appropriate independence to make choices, learn from their experiences, and develop self-reliance.

All Au Pair Extraordinaire applicants must fill the following requirements:

• Must have at least 12 consecutive months of formal child caring experience, excluding work done for friends and family. This experience must be within the last 2 years.
• Must have their own, reliable car and at least 18 months driving experience.
• Must have at least 2 contactable childcare references.
• Must have a clear criminal record
• Must have a passion for children
• Must have Matric
• Must have a South African ID document.
