Key Performance Areas

Technical Implementation

• Implement the overall technological architecture of the product as designed by the senior tech lead.
• Apply agreed best practices, continuous improvement and automation.
• Support the technical design of the product/service/function
• Implementing solutions as per software engineering best practices 
• Technology trends and technology solutions; Solution design methods, solution build methods and related processes; Develop cost-benefit models; Agile software delivery; Waterfall software delivery; Hybrid (Agile and Waterfall combined) software delivery

Collaboration

• Together with project teams assist in the implementation of the strategy.
• Highlight to senior leaders bottlenecks and production issues proactively and consult teams in order to improve technical solutions. 
• Work in collaboration across various teams in order to embed Agile ways of working

Planning & Delivery

• Work strictly within timelines and deliverables to ensure efficiency in delivery.
• Articulate progress regularly to technical leads to ensure proper tracking of project and team deliverables

Stakeholders

• Interface with internal and external industry experts to anticipate customer needs and facilitate solutions development.
• Collaborate across functional teams within the Broader MTN SA team to enable the development of solutions necessary to drive the desired business outcomes for customers.

Governance and Risk Management

• Participate in the creation and implementation of functional policies, standard operating procedures and best practices that ensure operational efficiency, accuracy, security, integrity and compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
• Highlight any risks to senior technical leads to enable fast mitigation of these risks.

QUALIFICATIONS

Job Requirements 

Education:

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, information-technology, engineering, system analysis or a related study with equivalent experience

Experience:

• Minimum of 2-5 years’ experience in area of specialisation; with experience in supervising/managing others
• Junior to intermediate within the technical components of the domains/products.
