    Specialist: Incident and Event Management

    Mission/ Core purpose of the Job

    The Specialist: Incident & Event Management will be responsible to manage and oversee the information security incident and event processes across Group Finco to ensure consistent detection, diagnoses, analysis and response to security incidents and events, ensuring minimal disruption to business and to restore normal service operations in an optimal timeframe. The Incident & Event Management role will focus on embedding best practice processes, tools and frameworks to the Group to provide seamless customer experience (internal/ external) perspective.

    • Drive improvement across the business to achieve the optimal service quality deliverables 1. Mission/ Core purpose of the Job The Specialist: Incident & Event Management will be responsible to manage and oversee the information security incident and event processes across Group Finco to ensure consistent detection, diagnoses, analysis and response to security incidents and events, ensuring minimal disruption to business and to restore normal service operations in an optimal timeframe. The Incident & Event Management role will focus on embedding best practice processes, tools and frameworks to the Group to provide seamless customer experience (internal/ external) perspective.
    • Group Finco Human Resources 3
    • Implement incident & event management progress and resolution
    • Conduct root-cause analysis on security incidents & events across the business
    • Define a problem-solving database with identified incidents & events
    • Define and implement touchpoints for integration of the security incidents & events process with other organizational processes including service level management, capacity and availability management, change management, problem management, HR, Legal, Communication, crisis management, incident management, Asset and Configuration management
    • Drive synergies and operational efficiencies by proactively identifying resolutions
    • Monitor and track the incidents & events impacts to the business operations at the OpCo’s (where required)
    • Define the incidents & events management process and policy for information security across the business, including definition of incidents, events, classification and prioritization and standard target resolution times. – to be aligned with ITIL, COBIT, NIST, and/or ISO 27035 as driven by business requirements
    • Implement the information security framework, toolkits and standards to incidents & events management
    • Monitor incidents across the OpCo’s to define common themes and opportunities for improvement at the Group Finco level
    • Define metrics to measure the severity of the incident and event cases logged
    • Deliver best practice cyber-security incident and event management capabilities
    • Educate the business on incident & event management
    • Provide incident & event management inputs into ad-hoc projects reporting
    • Contribute to vendor relationship management, for external incidents and events impacting business and customers

    Governance

    Ad-hoc Meetings

    • Participate and provide inputs in ad hoc meetings
    • Execute day-to-day operations

    Reporting

    • Report to the Manager as applicable relating to day-to-day operations
    • Generate ad-hoc Operational Delivery report

    Escalations

    • Resolve operational issues in area of specialisation
    • Escalate issues that will result in severe time, scope, productivity, and cost or resource or reputational impact
    • Provide input into solutions to management that can be addresses through stakeholder consultation where required

    Job Requirements (Education, Experience and Competencies) 

    Education:

    • 3-year Bachelor’s Degree Information Technology/ Information Systems/ Computer Science/ Engineering or related field required
    • CISSP certification
    • ISO 27035 training / certification advantageous
    • Other preferred certifications are: CISA, CISM, CGEIT, CRISC, CBCP, ISO 27001 Lead Auditor or Lead Implementer
    • ITIL Certification is Advantageous

    Experience:

    • 2 – 3 years of experience in a similar environment
    • Minimum of 1 -2 years’ experience in an area of specialisation, ideally at a junior specialist level within the financial sector or banking industry, and telecommunications industry
    • Experience working in a medium to large organization
    • Experience working across global locations/ regions and have a grasp of political, social, infrastructure and integrity challenges

    Functional Knowledge:

    • Information security incident process – process definition, incident response, reporting
    • Incident response and recovery tools (incident triage, forensic imaging and machine examination, log extraction and review etc across multiple endpoint and server environments)
    • Large scale information security projects /vendor relationships
    • Governance, Enterprise Risk Management and Compliance
