    Specialist: Reporting and Analytics

    Mission/ Core purpose of the Job
    The Specialist: Reporting & Analytics supports the Payments & Ecommerce function’s growth and expansion objectives through robust data intelligence, business analytics & reporting for the purpose of generating business insights across all Payment & Ecommerce related products & services

    The role will collaborate across the Payments & Ecommerce function and is responsible for data aggregation, data integrity, analytics, and relevant reporting to support value realisation activities, drive growth and enable effective business decision making

    Key Performance Areas: Core, essential responsibilities / outputs of the position (KPA's) 
    Strategy Development and Implementation

    • Support strategy execution in line with the overarching business and functional goals within area of specialisation
    • Prioritise own workload, ensuring interaction with co-workers and other key stakeholders in developing implementation plans and executing them
    • Support the formulation and implementation of Platforms & Partnerships strategy through financial modelling, analysis, and support

    Operational Delivery

    • Provide business insights, performance reports, commercial analytics , revenue and profitability reporting across all Payment & Ecommerce related products & services
    • Provide business insights by analysing data from the various data sources to drive optimization and improvement of digital platforms, product/ service development and marketing techniques for partner acquisition, retention, and loyalty
    • Articulate growth opportunities for each area of focus i.e., customer engagement, acquisition, usage, service, and retentions across all Payment & Ecommerce products
    • Obtain, document and analyze reporting needs and requirements through collaboration with Finco Opco data analytics champions, technology and technical partners and other stakeholders
    • Translates requirements into report specifications and standards and ensures data integrity within the reporting process.
    • Calculate, and format data into presentable reports and dashboards
    • Develop and implement comprehensive daily, weekly, and monthly dashboards, DataMarts and reports which supports management decision making
    • Provide accurate and timely reporting on strategy implementation against actual implementation and implementation progress
    • Conduct variance analysis on on-going basis and generate variance reports against approved budgets and plans
    • Identify opportunities for improvements with the aim of minimizing redundant reporting and development of single source of truth where possible
    • Work closely with technology teams and partners on data structure, standardization and aggregation
    • Provide increased focus on analytics and emphasize on providing valuable insights to drive improvement opportunities
    • Drive the constant improvement of data management, business reporting and reporting tools to ensure the function is in the best position to leverage its data
    • Work across functional lines to strive for and ensure consistent data quality
    • Define, track, and manage digital KPIs covering active customer and value segment performance
    • Support the development of compiling business cases to facilitate strategic decision making
    • Support in the development of leadership presentations and reports for various forums and committees ( Functional reviews, Exco, Remco, Board etc.)

    Governance

    Ad-hoc Meetings

    • Participate and provide inputs in ad hoc meetings
    • Execute day-to-day operations

    Reporting

    • Collate and prepare appropriate daily, weekly, and monthly activity and financial performance reports, in accordance with the measurement metrics set by management, for the attention of management
    • Prepare/compile agreed periodic activity and performance reports for the attention of management

    Escalations

    • Resolve escalations as per defined escalation / resolution procedures; and
    • Notify escalations to senior specialist that have impact on critical path of service delivery or that will result in significant time, scope, employee/customer or cost impacts if not resolved.

    Function Tactical

    • Participate in adhoc and operational meetings
    • Participate and provide input into tactical meetings as and when required
    • Report at process level

    Performance

    • Assist in monitoring, evaluating and reporting on the performance of Payments & Ecommerce products and services
    • Assist with monitoring and reviewing the performance of external partners against agreed KPIs and SLAs, escalating risks to management
    • Ensure effective execution of day-to-day operations and resolve operational issues as they arise
    • Improve productivity and quality through leading practice initiatives.

    Job Requirements (Education, Experience and Competencies) 

    • Finco Opcos

    Education:

    • 3-year Bachelor’s Degree/ Diploma in Computer Science, Data Science, Statistics or related field required

    Experience:

    • 2 – 3 years of experience in a data analytics and reporting function
    • Minimum of 1 -2 years’ experience in data science, statistics and business/data modelling within the financial sector or banking industry, and telecommunications industry
    • Demonstrated experience in designing, developing and maintaining BI reports and optimizing efficiency in manipulating data
    • Experience working in a medium to large organization
    • Experience working across global locations/ regions and have a grasp of political, social, infrastructure and integrity challenges
    • Knowledge of data science trends, architectural components, and platforms
    • Experience in digital platforms and electronic payment business is advantageous
    • Understanding of emerging markets advantageous
