St Peters Prep Schools Aftercare Assistant at ST Peters Preparatory Schools

Duties (not an exhaustive list):

• Ensuring the safety of the children by checking playground equipment and toys
• Ensuring the children play safely
• Planning, organising and supervision of children and various child-based activities
• Supervision of homework
• Taking responsibility for maintaining a clean, tidy and well-maintained facility
• Ensuring high standards in every aspect of the afternoon supervision
• Attending to children who are not well
• Compiling incident reports and related documentation should an incident occur.
• Assuring that children are signed in and out correctly, in conjunction with the Aftercare Team
• Handing children over to their parents when they are collected

Requirements:

Required Qualifications and Experience

• Matric
• 3 years of childcare experience 

Candidates should have the following attributes:

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Self-motivated, organised, and energetic
• A willingness to support and mentor and to be mentored
• The intention to work according to the school’s ethos, specifications, and policies
• A willingness to work as part of a team
