Station Commander at Drakenstein Municipality

JOB PURPOSE:

• To manage and coordinate the rendering of Fire Safety in the Fire Services Department of Drakenstein Municipality to ensure the delivery of effective and efficient Emergency Services.

SELECTION REQUIREMENTS FOR THE POST:

• Grade 12
• National Diploma in Fire Technology or equivalent qualification (NQF Level 6)
• Basic Ambulance Course or equivalent qualification

OTHER REQUIREMENTS/SKILLS:

• Registered as a Basic Ambulance Assistant/ equivalent with the HPCSA (Health Professions
• Council of South Africa)
• Code C1 Driver’s license
• Knowledge of the relevant legislation
• Knowledge of Hazmat operations
• Training and presentation skills
• Management and supervision skills
• Computer literacy (Ms Office Application)
• Ability to give attention to detail
• Ability to make quick and life-saving decisions
• Must be able to work under stressful conditions and be able to deal with deadlines adequately
• Fluent in at least 2 of the official languages of the Western Cape

EXPERIENCE:

• 4-5 years relevant experience
