    Strategic Coordination and Integration Senior Specialist: Sustainability Reporting and Information Management

    Minimum Requirements:

    • Relevant degree or equivalent qualification in the field of Environmental Management or Environmental Science or Sustainable Development at NQF level 7;
    • 5 – 7 years experience in the Environmental Management/Sustainability Reporting field;
    • Experience in the development of general environmental policies, strategies, and project proposals in consultancy, public or private sector environments (e.g. IEMP, SOER, EMS etc.);
    • Valid driver’s licence.

    Primary Function:

    • Manage and lead the development and implementation of policies, strategies, systems, and programs that promote integrated environmental planning and management within the city and department effectively and efficiently.

    Key Performance Areas:

    • Manage the Department’s environmental reporting;
    • Manage the stakeholder process on matters pertaining to policy and legislation;
    • Lead the implementation of environmental sustainability;
    • Raising awareness of the potential environmental impacts that could arise from the City’s activities;
    • Sustainability reporting;
    • Effective performance management and personnel development;
    • Give input into the preparation, monitoring, and controlling of the annual departmental budget.

    Leading Competencies:

    • Report writing skills;
    • Computer literacy (MS Office Packages, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint);
    • Excellent written and oral communication skills in English and must be able to communicate and coordinate effectively with other stakeholders;
    • Analytical, data collection, and presentation skills;
    • Attention to detail and high levels of accuracy and excellent planning, organising,
    • coordinating, and time management skills.

    Core Competencies:

    • Knowledge and understanding of environmental issues and relevant legislation;
    • Understanding of National/Provincial/Local Government Policy, Legislation, and Protocols;
    • Collaborative/Teamwork, Values and Integrity, Attention to detail, and quality-focused;
    • Customer and Service Delivery Management (Batho Pele) Ethics, Professionalism;
    • Impact and Influence according to the City’s protocols, legislation, and standards.
