Switchboard Operator at Melomed Private Hospitals

Description

• Operate and manage the hospital switchboard efficiently and professionally
• Answer all incoming calls promptly, courteously and professionally
• Direct calls accurately to the correct departments, extensions or doctors' rooms
• Ensure that the switchboard is attended at all times during allocated working hours
• Take and relay messages clearly and timeously where required
• Make clear and accurate intercom announcements when requested
• Maintain the confidentiality of all hospital, patient and staff information
• Maintain professional conduct, focus and attention at the switchboard during operating hours
• Build positive stakeholder relationships, uphold Melomed's Values and comply with all applicable policies and procedures

Requirements

• 1-2 years' experience in a switchboard and/or reception environment
• Good verbal communication and listening skills
• Excellent computer skills
• Professional telephone manner with strong customer service and interpersonal skills
