    Tax Administrator

    About the Job

    Role Description

    • Tax administrator provides support to the tax team leader and Tax Manager and in monthly, annual, and biannual tax processes related to DWT, IWT and PAYE obligations. The role is Financial Services specific and involves the administrative tax processes related to Asset Managers, Life Insurers and Pension funds.

    Team Responsibilities

    Tax-related administration:

    • Execute, reconcile, and perform PAYE payments, including SARS EMP201.
    • Execute, reconcile, and perform payments of DWT and WTI and filing of DTR02 and WT002.
    • Distribution and monitoring of SARS correspondence, assessments, queries, request for supporting documents.

    Tax Maintenance

    • Income tax rate changes application on administrative system.
    • Updating of tax calculators.

    Queries:

    • CGT, DWT, IWT, TFSA and PAYE query resolution.
    • Manual tax directives applications on emigration, disallowed contributions, and visa withdrawals etc.
    • Perform manual CGT calculations.
    • Create manual tax certificates.

    Experience required.

    • Completed or studying towards Bcom Accounting or a tax specific tertiary qualification.
      • Products specific knowledge (retirement funds, voluntary investment products, TFSA etc) advantageous.
      • Income Tax Act and Tax Administration Act knowledge.
      • SARS e-filling and E@syfile.
      • Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, Teams).
      • Strong reconciliation skills.
      • Understand business processes.
      • Strong accounting knowledge.
      • Sound financial control skills.
