    Team Coordinator - Solar PV Plant

    Service Team Coordinator

    Operations and Maintenance

    • The Service Team Coordinator is responsible for the methodical planning, coordinating and controlling of day-to-day activities of the General Service Teams (GST) on R4’s three Solar Power Plants.
    • To plan and schedule daily operations and manage overall performance of the GST’s per PV Plant to make the most efficient and effective use of the GST’s and equipment in producing the desired quality and meeting production KPI’s.
    • Drive GST continuous improvement by recommending, supporting and implementing improvement activities, process and procedures to optimise results in line with R4 – Key Performance KPIs.
    • Acts as liaison between General Service Team leaders and Plant Supervisors to analyse opportunities for operational efficiency.

     

    Key Performance Areas

    The Service Team Coordinator position, is within the Operations and Maintenance function, reporting directly to the O&M Manager of R4. During the O&M phase, the focus is on coordinating and control of the General Service Teams on the R4 portfolio.

     

    O&M Coordination

    • Plan and schedule daily GST operations in order to conduct maintenance activities
    • Recommend changes to procedures when necessary to improve production efficiency, minimize waste, and reduce operating costs
    • Review equipment, process checklists and reports for accuracy and compliance with the operating procedures and takes action to correct any deficiencies
    • To ensure appropriate equipment, tools and materials supply available at all times
    • To achieve required quality standards
    • Ensure the team leaders are aware of day to day targets and responsibilities
    • Ensure all maintenance records are completed appropriately
    • Monitor the completion of tasks and ensure good performance and record on CMMS
    • To train team leaders in all aspects of the production operation
    • To undertake continuous improvement activities
    • To provide support and to solve day-to-day issues for team leaders
    • Provide feedback on production performance measurable against daily targets to GST
    • To communicate team briefings
    • Evenly distribute tasks based on skill level and job rotation whilst liaising with team leaders
    • Submit time and attendance records to Plant Supervisor
    • Actively promote good housekeeping practices to ensure work areas are kept tidy and clean at all times

     

    Health & Safety

    • Contribute to a safe and healthy work environment by:
    • Providing appropriate toolbox talk topics
    • Promptly reports any unsafe working conditions
    • Reporting all accidents and hazards;
    • Avoiding unsafe work practises at work;
    • Meeting the strategies and goals of the QHSSE manual
    • To conduct planned task observations
    • To ensure GST understand and follow required process and Plant Safety Regulations

     

    Knowledge

    • Excellent understanding of operations and maintenance processes in a renewable energy plant environment
    • Working knowledge of electrical and mechanical systems of a Solar PV plant
    • Good understanding of QHSSE
    • Familiar with Computer Maintenance Management Systems
    • Basic MS software knowledge
    • Good technical knowledge
    • Supervisory experience

     

    Ideal

    • Computer literacy MS Software knowledge
    • Working knowledge of CMMS
    • 5+ years supervisory and management experience
    • Knowledge of Health & Safety legislation including ISO14001 and ISO45001
    • Preferably experienced working in a solar operations and maintenance environment

     

    Qualifications / Experience

    • 5 years’ experience as a Supervisor or Manager in Construction/Operations environment
    • Working knowledge on Electrical Safety and Arc Flash Hazards
    • Valid Code B driving license
    • A grade 12 Certificate or equivalent with Mathematics (not Literacy) and Physical Science
    • N2 Engineering studies qualification
    • 3 years’ experience as Production Team Leader in renewable energy operations and maintenance environment
    • Valid Code B driving license
