    Technical Lead

    About the job

    We are looking for a natural born leader to provide sound guidance within our Technical team. As Technical Team Lead, you will be leading from the front-line, setting an exceptional example for the Technical team, and getting your hands dirty.

    Teamwork is crucial to see any team achieving and exceeding their goals, and your role will not only be leader, but also cheerleader and strong motivator. You’re an excellent communicator, especially when it comes to public speaking.

    You’re accountable, trustworthy, and a great people person who’s good at building lasting relationships with your colleagues and our customers. You’re also a strategic thinker with a strong mind for businesses and understanding of how they are run.

    You’re well-versed in all things technical, and all things Microsoft in particular. You keep up with tech trends and business trends.

    Snapshot of Technical Team Lead responsibilities:

    • Handle escalations from Tier 2, Tier 1, and Junior IT Professionals

    • Empower, train and mentor Tier 1 and Tier 2 IT Professionals

    • Effective problem management through root-cause analysis and problem resolution

    • Improve Contract Efficiency through Technical Excellence throughout the team

    • Ensure that clients get the services they need and see the value in their solutions

    • Escalate client issues and risks to the Account Manager

    • Develop and document policies and procedures

    • Collaborate with the Management team to build sustainable processes that meet our business needs

    • Manage internal IT systems, including Hosting Servers, Cloud Servers, Microsoft 365 Tenant, IT Glue, N-Central & Autotask

     

    What we need from you:

    • Proven experience as a Technical Team Lead or similar leadership role

    • Demonstrated experience in a Managed IT Services business

    • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Azure, 365 and Networking

    • Brilliant communication skills with the ability to explain complex topics in a way that our clients easily understand

    • Fluent in English speaking, reading, and writing

    • Strong leadership and organisational abilities

    • Strategic thinking with excellent problem-solving skills

    • Ability to effectively prioritise tasks and take decisive action

    • Ambition and an eagerness to learn and improve yourself

    • Passionate about knowledge-sharing and mentoring colleagues

    • Able to assess and improve existing operations, identify skill gaps, and schedule training

    • The personality of a Christmas Tree – colourful and bright with a knack for making people smile!

     

    Technical skills required:

    • Experienced in Azure Virtual Machines and Virtual Networks, Platform as a Service (PaaS) for IT Pros, using PowerShell for automation and management, and migrating systems from on-premises to cloud.

    • Skills in and understanding of the next generation of cloud-optimised networks, apps and web services. These include virtualization features, network management, storage capabilities, and more.

    • Experience with installing, maintaining and troubleshooting networks – LAN and wireless networks, firewalls, UTM, DHCP, DNS and TCIP

    • Vast experience with Microsoft 365, Active Directory, SQL, Azure and Microsoft Exchange.

     

    Past experience required:

    • 10+ Years of IT support experience

    • 5+ Years of remote monitoring and management experience

    • 3+ Years leading an IT Support Team of 5 people or more

    • 10+ Years of Microsoft echo system implementation, administration and support

    • Azure & Microsoft 365 certifications
