Temp Au Pair | Irene at Au Pair Extraordinaire

Duties: 

• Looking after and general care of the child, creating and playing educational games and activities. Daily transport, booking appointments, arranging and attending play dates.
• Creating healthy menus and cooking - priority is to cook for child but may include household. Afternoon and evening routines may include bathing, dressing, eating, school work and prep for the following day.
• Running errands and shopping for child and household, time permitting. Stay overnight and travel with the family from time to time if needed. Understanding the Montessori philosophy would be highly beneficial. Proactive communication and structured feedback to parents.
• First-aid qualifications and knowledge up to date. Work collaboratively and constructively alongside other staff members. Create activities for the family to enjoy with their child

Requirements:

• Education background would be ideal. Highly flexible in time availability as household plans often shift on short notice.
• Must have up to date first aid training. Availability to stay overnight on occasions, or to travel with the family, if required

All Au Pair Extraordinaire applicants must fill the following requirements:

• Must have at least 12 consecutive months of formal child caring experience, excluding work done for friends and family. This experience must be within the last 2 years.
• Must have their own, reliable car and at least 18 months driving experience.
• Must have at least 2 contactable childcare references.
• Must have a clear criminal record
• Must have a passion for children
• Must have Matric
• Must have a South African ID document.
