    Time Specialist

    Job Description

    The purpose of the Time Specialist is to be responsible and accountable for the overall time and attendance of the business, by managing the process through communication, collaboration, knowledge management and analytic. Ensuring up to date employee attendance records, generating payroll-ready information and preventing non-compliance.

    Additionally, this role will be responsible for:

    • Driving i-Time usage in the business
    • Train and coach the line on i-Time
    • Manage the capturing of all time and attendance
    • Manages the inputs and retrieves information on internal systems (i-Time) as required
    • Ensures that the relevant information is processes and documented.
    • Ensures confidentiality of all information
    • Manages the Co-ordination and controls clerical and administrative tasks for the designated section to ensure time constraints and targets are met. 
    • Approve spread sheets / upload files for payroll purposes to submit to FSS for payment which includes HLA, encashments, sundry deductions/refunds, telephone deductions, business kilo claims, NUM & Solidarity deductions and  water & electricity deductions;
    • Ensure the capturing of annual leave from HLA forms
    • Approves the boarding school assistance for processing at FSS payrolls
    • Approves the financial section of Rand Mutual insurance
    • Approves the deductions for terminations
    • Approves the adhoc Time & Attendance capturing done by Time office.
    • Conduct audits on i-Time to ensure SAP is updated correctly.
    • Ensure the preparation of correction run information & documentation
    • Assist with various payroll related queries
    • Ensure the clearing of Error reports
    • Manage the relationship with Accenture


    • Grade 12 Essential
    • 3 year Information Technology Diploma/Degree or SAP HR /HRS certification


    • 5 years’ experience in Payroll or Time role in the mining industry
    • Customer service orientation

    Knowledge and Skills:

    • SAP HR
    • Excellent telephonic, verbal and written communication skills across all levels
    • High level of attention to detail
    • Ability to work well under pressure, within set guidelines
