UX/UI Designer at Discovery Limited

Responsibilities include:

• Facilitate the business’ product vision by researching, conceiving, conceptualizing, prototyping and user-testing experiences for digital products that align to needs of the business and the user.
• Design and deliver wireframes, user stories, user journeys, and mockups optimized for a wide range of devices and interfaces.
• Find creative ways to solve UX problems and to ensure the best possible experience for the user.
• Plan, design and execute quantitative and qualitative user testing that includes interviews, focus groups and contextual enquiries to evaluate the effectiveness of user interfaces and to determine if the known and unarticulated needs have been met.
• Analyze user research and testing results and share outcomes and recommendations with the business team.
• Work with UI designers and development teams and ensure the integrity of the designs are maintained through the design and development process
• Ask smart questions, take risks and champion new ideas.

Competencies

• Digital web and mobile design
• Experience in design/ux tools (Figma/Adobe suite/Axure/etc.)
• Understanding of web technologies (HTML/CSS/etc.)
• Ability to build prototypes
• Understanding of user centered design
• Up to date knowledge of current web design trends and techniques.
• Can look at a problem through multiple “lenses” and come up with concepts that meets the needs of each.

Essential education and experience

• Tertiary Degree / Diploma in Design and multimedia
• 2 years’ experience in digital design and advantage
• Experience working with a Usability team
