    Warranty Handler - S2 (Kempton Park)

    Job Description

    • Manage the warranty jobs effectively and applying business principles in line with SMC standards
    • Effective relationships with other major project and personnel to ensure healthy interaction.
    • Implement appropriate systems to maximise warranty and project resource utilisation, optimise warranty financials, cash flow, time schedules and technical deliverables to ensure claims are complete on time, within budget.
    • Communicate with overseas principles to ensure alignment with dead line dates and expectations.
    • Communicate with customer and other SMC marketing departments to ensure good alignment is achieved.
    • Monitor overall performance of the warranty department

    Basic function    

    • Manage all warranty issues within Sandvik  (all segments)
    • Attend meetings with regards to warranty issues with all customers
    • Attend meeting regarding projects on product improvement issues, and all engine related issues
    • Do monthly reports as required by aftermarket managers and field service managers/ contract managers
    • Ensure a fluent flow of warranty claims through the warranty department
    • Attend warranty related investigations of components and parts with the warranty handlers and the customer
    • Ensure all customers (internal and external) understand and follow our warranty procedure
    • Manage the warranty WIP
    • Ensure that all warranty registrations is done in ST units database and forward to Proco,s
    • Ensure that warranty credits are received from proco and processed on our system
    • Ensure that more info requests from proco is adhered to
    • Ensure SX components used on warranty jobs are returned to SX dept after completion
    • Keep customers (internal and external) up to date with progress on warranty claims
    • Ensure that all warranty failures are repaired back to OEM specs.
    • Ensure effective distribution of Bulletins to our customers
    • Ensure that warranty handling time decrease
    • Ensure that the feedback system are fully utilized
    • Review all claims from customers to ensure all information needed is supplied
    • Liase between proco and customer for more info required by proco
    • Maintain hard copies of claims for reference
    • Ensure all start up documents are received and processed in Unit database
    • Manage and control all Cat engine related issues (Warranty and normal repairs)

    Requirements

    • Grade 12
    • Trade Test section 13
    • Technical/mining experience
    • Fault finding and failure analysis experience
    • Proficient in MS Office software – excel, powerpoint, projects & word
    • Job management including financial aspects
    • Public relations
    • Passed experience in field service, fault finding & management would be an added advantage. 
    • Expense forecasting
    • Warranty job costing
    • Technical proficiency
