Minimum Requirements

Qualifications

• Matric certificate as well as an applicable qualification in childcare or qualification in ECD;
• Clear criminal record.

Duties and Responsibilities

Duties include but are not limited to:

• Ensuring that children are safe, happy and looked after both physically and emotionally;
• Incident report and documentation written up daily should an incident occur;
• First aid to be administered should an injury occur;
• Implementing the daily programme of activities in conjunction with the Teacher/Playschool Vice-Principal;
• Engagement with the children on their age level;
• Monitoring and supervising the children in the classroom and on the playground;
• Being responsible for the children’s belongings at all times and ensuring bags are packed correctly at the end of the day;
• Assisting children with all toileting needs, serving of snacks/lunch;
• Cleaning and sanitising of toys regularly;
• Maintaining the tidiness and cleanliness of the storeroom and its contents.

Minimum Requirements

Qualifications:

• Matric certificate as well as an applicable qualification in childcare or qualification in ECD/Foundation phase teaching
• South African citizen
• Previous experience and/or knowledge of working with children aged 2—13 years
• Preference will be given to applicants who have a qualification in childcare
• Clear criminal record
• Excellent command of the English language – spoken and written

• Ensuring that children are safe, happy and looked after, both physically and emotionally during Aftercare
• Alerting the Manager to any issues that arise during Aftercare
• Incident report and documentation written up daily, should an incident occur
• First Aid to be administered should an injury occur
• Implementing the daily programme of activities in conjunction with the Aftercare Manager
• Engagement with the children on their age level
• Monitoring and supervising the children in the classroom and on the playground
• Being responsible for the children’s belongings at all times and ensuring bags are packed correctly at the end of the day
• Assisting children with all toileting needs
• Serving of snacks and washing of dishes afterwards
• Cleaning and sanitising of toys regularly
• Maintaining the tidiness and cleanliness of the Aftercare storeroom and its contents
• Assuring that children are signed in timeously and correctly
• Assisting Primary School children with homework
• Liaising with parents and children in Aftercare on a daily basis
