    Job description

    • The College of Business and Economics is recruiting a Senior Faculty Officer III to support the Head of College Administration in the execution of her duties. Set in a fast-paced environment, the role demands outstanding planning and organisational skills in rendering excellent academic administrative support. The Faculty Officer III ensures that the lifecycle activities of an undergraduate student are carried out operationally as delineated by the HCA.

    Responsibilities:

    • Handle all ad hoc tasks assigned by the Deanery and HCA.
    • Ensuring timely, efficient, and accurate execution of UG selections using Perceptive Content, ARS, and the ITSstudent Database.
    • Handle problems related to UG applications.
    • Processing of UG transfer and Entering applications.
    • Ensuring timely, efficient, and accurate execution of UG transfer and entering admissions.
    • Responsible for UG registration.
    • Ensuring timely and accurate execution of college administration, support and management.

    • Ensure effective review and correction of potential student data integrity issues using HEDA and HEMIS systems.
    • Processing of judicial decision outcomes in the ITS system, ensuring full compliance with institutional policies and decisions.
    • Source all documentation pertaining to the lifecycle of the student.
    • Act as custodian of the current students’ academic record.

    Minimum requirements

    Job description

    • The Information Communication Systems (ICS) Division is the central Information Technology Services division of the University of Johannesburg tasked with Planning, Implementation and Support of core IT systems within the university. ICS is driven by a vision to be an IT services provider of choice for all of UJ’s communities and a credible partner in the delivery of the university’s strategic goals.
    • Embedded in ICS’s vision is a mission to make sound IT investment decisions that are aligned to the university’s strategic direction, provide leadership in the effective and efficient use of IT within UJ, ensure a reliable and secure IT service across all UJ’s campuses while maintaining a motivated and highly skilled workforce that is able to address UJ’s current and future IT needs.

    Responsibilities:

    Support and Maintenance:

    • Supervise and manage an AV support team in a high volume Shared Service unit to achieve operational outcomes.
    • Manage the day-to-day work activities of the team, including timelines, expected customer experience, rostering and prioritising and allocating tasks. Supervise repairs and routine cleaning of AV equipment.
    • Troubleshoot and resolve AV system problems in all venues.
    • Ensure adherence and enforcement to the Incident and Service Request processes. Ensure adherence to the SLA for Incidents and Service Requests.
    • Ensure that AV hardware is installed and maintained according to project schedules and operational timelines.
    • Ensure implementation and maintenance of AV solutions.
    • Identification of UJ venues that require AV upgrades and installation.
    • Ensure proper functionality and physical safety of the equipment temporarily and permanently deployed in venues.
    • Collaborate with ICS teams to efficiently and effectively complete AV integration maintenance.

    Conduct General Administration:

    • Ensure the safekeeping of AV equipment in venues.
    • Maintain an asset register in the respective lecture venues on campus.
    • Train End Users on AV technologies in UJ venues.
    • Training and mentoring of Interns and Student Assistants.
    • Compile Instructional AV user guides.
    • Assist with compilation of the AV asset register.
    • Ensure asset control by tracking asset distribution accurately.
    • Conduct assessments of venues recently upgraded and provide required sign-offs.

    • Collaborate with ICS teams to ensure AV Service Delivery.

    • Three to five (3-5) years' Team supervision
    • Three to five (3-5) years' Customer Service experience

    Knowledge:
