    HRD Coordinator Mining NMT

    Job Description:

    The HRD Coordinator Mining is responsible to ensure compliance with Mine Health and Safety Act requirements regarding practical skills development facilities (underground and / or surface) with reference to competence and Legal appointments. Responsibility will also lie in managing an accredited underground workplace skills development area.

    Your duties will include (but not limited to) be:

    • Coordinate and implement operational skills development for competency.
    • Responsible to establish, maintain and manage a working underground and / or surface environment conducive for skills development in compliance with the Mine Health and Safety Act.
    • Identification of skills development delivery priorities for Mining in consultation with the HRD Manager
    • Ensures compliance in terms of MQA and QCTO requirements
    • Analyse, Design, Develop, Implement and evaluate skills development processes and resources on-going to ensure compliance with best practice principles
    • Design and coordinate skills development capacity (infrastructure, curriculum, resources) for skills development needs
    • Report progress against predetermined targets for skills development delivery for practical underground workplace development.
    • Implements the required learning methodology and learning material.
    • Ensures appropriate training budget control
    • Measures, evaluates and reports on effectiveness and efficiency of skills development programmes.
    • Liaises with internal and external stakeholder relationships including service providers and internal clients.
    • This role is in the Human Resources Development Department and is at a Band 6 level reporting to the HRD Manager Operations.

    Qualifications:

    • Blasting Certificate / NQF 3 Rock Breaker Qualification (essential)
    • Strata Control Certificate (essential)
    • Assessor and Moderator Certificate (essential)
    • Mine Overseer Certificate (advantageous)
    • OD ETDP Level 5 Higher certificate or NQF 6 OD ETDP Diploma (advantageous)
    • Risk Management Certification (advantageous)
    • Management Development Programme (advantageous)

    Skills & experience:

    • 5 years’ Mining experience, including 1-year supervisory experience and 2 years HRD

    Permit Compliance Coordinator

    Job Description:

    As our Permitting Compliance Coordinator, you will be responsible for coordinating, monitoring of compliance with permits’ conditions by:

    • Developing detailed implementation plan to maintain and monitor conditions detailed in permits, including the process by which to identify each individual condition and requirement attached to a permit, and link it to a responsible person and to a timeframe.
    • Ensuring compliance to commitments detailed in permits and to keep permits in good standing.
    • Preparing and communicating to people responsible for implementation of conditions attached to permits and follow up on the compliance.
    • Ensuring the integration of Technical and other teams in the compliance process.
    • Keeping the permitting manager informed about the results of compliance process as well as the potential risk and mitigation measures.
    • Maintaining the permit register and be responsible for document control to acquire and renew permits. 

    This role is in the Permitting Department at a band 6 level and reporting to the Permitting Manager

    Qualifications:

    You will be required to have the following:

    • Diploma/Degree in a relevant discipline. E.g., Environmental Management, Law, Mining Engineering, Industrial Engineer, Geology, or related disciplines.

    Experience:

    • At least 5 years in similar position in mining or energy companies, law firms, consulting or in a public agency.
    • Experience advising on permitting issues or compliance for new project development in a relevant sector preferably in RSA mining.
    • Experience of working in a large multinational company and international projects, involving different cultures and business environments will be an added advantage.
    • Track record of interfacing with and influencing colleagues at all levels and coordinating disciplines relevant to permitting.

    Knowledge and Skills:

    • Extensive knowledge of new project development issues and or operation issues within the extractive industries or another relevant sector, if possible, with a strong focus on compliance.
    • Strong understanding of the technical and non-technical factors that affect compliance.
    • Ability to engage across all the disciplines relevant to compliance with conditions attached to permits and ensures effective coordination between these disciplines.
    • Excellent communication skills, orderly work.
    • Broad familiarity with regulatory environments in RSA.
    • Good analytical skills and attention to detail.
    • Computer literate.

    Metallurgist

    Job Description:
    As a Metallurgist, you will ensure that your subordinates adhere to safety standards and participate in safety meetings.

    Your daily duties will include liaising with Metallurgical Technical Engineer on plant operation, monitor and advise on the settings of operational parameters to optimize performance, identify and communicate plant defects to the Senior Metallurgist.

    Other duties include:

    • Audit the process regularly to ensure conformance to and understanding of standards
    • Assist during breakdowns or emergencies or poor plant performances
    • Initiate and conduct personal and team technical projects with the Senior Metallurgist and Laboratory Processor
    • Develop a trusting and mutual relationships with internal and external service providers
    • This role is in the Processing Department at a Band 6 level reporting to the Metallurgical Technical Engineer.

    Qualifications:

    • Degree in Metallurgy or Chemical Engineering (essential)
    • Anglo Graduate Development Propgramme (AGDP) (essential)

    HRD Trainer Eng Tech Ops

    Job Description:

    We are currently seeking a HRD Trainer Engineering Technical Operations to join our Platinum family. This is a key role within the team where you will be:

    • Executing skills development for competency.
    • Compliance to training and assessment with approved methodology and learning material (learning delivery system).
    • Compliance to the Mine Health and Safety Act.
    • Training resources in compliance with best practice.
    • Compliance in terms of MQA and QCTO requirements
    • Executing and delivered Engineering / generic / site specific Induction, Equipment Operating Skills and ancillary and skills training.
    • Progressive reports on predetermined targets for skills development.
    • Relationships with relevant stakeholders.

    This role is in the Human Resources Department at a C3 level reporting to the HRD Officer Engineering Technical Training Operations

    Qualifications:

    • Grade 12 with Maths and Physical Science and Technical N2 trade specific (Trade Theory, Engineering Drawing, Maths and Engineering Science)
    • Engineering Trade Test Certificate with Learnership Agreement
    • NQF 4 OD ETDP Certificate
    • Assessor Certificate

    Experience, Knowledge & Skills:

    • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in Engineering Field
    • Training experience essential
    • Understanding of training needs analysis, training logistics and administration
    • Good written and verbal communication skills in English

    • Must be prepared to work overtime when required
    • Valid South African Driver’s License
