    Portfolio Manager: Investment Solutions

    Minimum Requirements    

    Ideal experience:

    • Direct experience (min 5 yrs.) as a senior member of a manager research team (MM, LISP or DFM) and/or portfolio manager within a MM or DFM.
    • Minimum of 5 years relevant industry experience in either an asset management business or a LISP.
    • Experience in presenting investment recommendation to influential bodies/committees.

    Ideal qualifications: 

    • Relevant tertiary financial/investment qualification essential.
    • A CFP ® with current FPI membership.
    • A CFA would be advantageous.

    • Analytical capabilities, strong numerical ability.
    • People management and leadership skills.
    • Strong networking skills.
    • Ability to communicate and interpret relevant economic and financial market data.
    • Resilience.

    Systems knowledge:

    • Proficient in MS Office Suite, with advanced MS Excel & PPT skills.
    • Morningstar.
    • A key measurement of success will be a proven track record in managing houseview portfolios in line with advisor's client needs, along with the ability to assist sales teams in converting the intermediary’s book into the model portfolio solution.

    Duties and Responsibilities    

    • Engage with Product Development and Investment Solutions, to define a competitive Discretionary Fund Managers (DFMs), proposition strategy broker whilst observing the requirements of PPS MM as the FAIS Cat 2 license holder.
    • Maintain a current understanding of the competitor universe, including participants, key role players, portfolios and pricing.
    • Build an investment committee framework, along with an investment policy statement, which will govern all DFM investment committees with intermediaries.
    • Build and manage relationships with Head of Research & Head of Portfolio Management & Analytics for the service of manager research, asset allocation and portfolio construction as an input into client engagement and asset consulting.
    • Identify potential opportunities for PPS DFM to engage with current supporting IFAs, as well as over time work with the Solutions BDM team to build non supporting intermediary relationships on external platforms.
    • Ensure delivery of DFM service incl. research to FSPs.
    • Ensure appropriate construction of model portfolios (MPs) towards the internal houseviews, based on the needs of the advisor.
    • Serve as a member (potentially Chair) of PPS DFM Investment Committees.
    • Contribute to the development of marketing material.
    • Contribute to MP reporting and FPS reporting.
    • Spokesperson / media responsibilities for PPS DFM.

    People Management

    • Over time look to build a team of Portfolio Managers/Asset Consultants so as to scale the value proposition

    Consultant:Disease Risk Management

    Minimum Requirements    

    Qualifications & Experience

    • Grade 12
    • A Registered Nursing qualification
    • Disease Risk Management is essential
    • Sound knowledge of the Coding Systems: ICD10 & CPT4 Principles and sound knowledge of the Medical Aid Industry, Rules & Regulations, ISO and other related legislation
    • Excellent business writing & communication skills with exceptional telephone etiquette
    • Must have strong organisational awareness to anticipate the impact of actions on other groups.
    • Time Management & good administration skills
    • Effective conflict resolution skills and the ability to work under pressure
    • Must be a strong team player and results driven
    • Computer literacy (MS Office and Medical Administration system)

    Duties and Responsibilities    

    • Contacting of members and building of positive relationships with the members to achieve positive outcomes.
    • Analyse and interpret reports, clinical results, and patient history information to provide an action plan per patient.
    • Ensure adherence to Scheme Rules on all authorisations and clinical updates
    • Effective handling of Internal/External Clinical Queries Communicate with members and service providers to address disease management matters
    • Assist with Health Risk Management Monitoring & Management of hospital re-admissions
    • Compile & submit detailed reports to the Scheme on costs and patient’s progress
    • Educate members on their chronic conditions via email or telephonically.
    • Support the Service Manager and HOD on any projects related to risk management.
