    Senior Dealing Administrator

    Job objective:

    • CIS dealing and portfolio administration.

    Job Specifications:

    FX trades

    • Placing Forex trades with financial institution
    • Update manual BOP form or electronic BOP form on Business Online
    • Update Payment / pre-advice file for company to capture on system
    • Check that trades have settled on systems on the settlement date

    Updating trades on system

    • Update trades placed manually on companies' system (Asset Arena)
    • Updating system with ETF trades once broker notes received

    Forward daily payment files to company and Trustees for processing:

    • Call deposits (sent by manager),
    • Money market Fixed Deposits (ad-hoc sent by manager)
    • Futures margin deposits (ad-hoc sent by manager) ​

    Multi-Managed Funds (daily)

    • Prepare multi-manager transfer file by using flows report and forwarding to all relevant parties (no calculation to be done)

    Open new investor accounts for local and offshore unit trusts

    • Complete application forms – local / foreign
    • Link the new local account on Finswitch for trading
    • Advise Maitland of the new account being linked by completing template for local funds
    • Advise Apex of offshore CIS account number for future trading once accounts open
    • Follow up with foreign Mancos and provide FICA documentation as requested
    • If the instrument isn’t in Asset Arena, log a Cherwell to create it

    Portfolio dealing (secondary task)

    • Calculate portfolio cis trade deals
    • Implement via Cala stone and or Fin switch and or manual where relevant

    Investigating and resolving queries

    • Fund queries from Maitland
    • Fund queries from Trustees
    • Fund queries from portfolio managers

    Managing the Cash Recon

    • Logging Cherwells

    Managing dealing inbox

    • Moving out e-mails not for dealing
    • Moving statements to statement mailbox
    • Dealing Projects.

    Skills Required:

    • Relevant degree with more than 3 years current and relevant experience.
    • An ability to work accurately under pressure to meet deadlines;
    • An ability to take initiative and work independently.
    • Attention to detail.
    • Ability to communicate effectively at various levels.
    • An ability to think analytically and identify and solve problems effectively.

    Description

    • Market Data Senior Administrator responsibilities are loading market trades, pricing active securities, processing corporate actions and managing and updating static data.
    • Primary focus will be on funds with large volumes of trade, pricing and corporate action activity.

    Job Specifications:

    Senior Finance Manager

    Description:

    • We are seeking a Senior Finance Manager, reporting to the Regional Head of Finance - Africa within Apex.
    • The Senior Finance Manager will be responsible for producing the financial outputs and required to implement processes to ensure the production of the accounting results is simple, relevant, and efficient.
    • The role will involve reporting and presentation of the financial results to the business, its decision makers, external stakeholders and Group Finance.

    Job specification:

    • Ensure decision making is done with appropriate financial input.
    • Provide overall supervision of and responsibility for the staff requirements of the finance team.
    • Supported by the team take up ultimate responsibility for the timely and accurate delivery of the accounting records of each entity in the Service Group.

    • In conjunction with central treasury and the finance team, responsible for monitoring cash flow and ensuring operating entities have appropriate balances to continue meeting their obligations.
    • Responsibility for the overall delivery of accurate financial reporting monthly in accordance with predetermined deadlines to the business and Group Finance.
    • Initiate and oversee reporting and analysis as required to provide value through ongoing and ad-hoc financial information to the business.
    • Overall responsibility for the Group’s statutory and regulatory reporting and filing.
    • In conjunction with the wider Finance teams, ensure the risks, administration and compliance with income tax, transfer pricing and VAT rules are understood, adhered to, and regularly reviewed by obtaining necessary opinions to remain in good standing, and new changes made are in line with these requirements.
    • Representing the service group users of accounting systems, participate in decisions for development and investment in finance systems with other Senior Financial Controllers, Group Finance and Service Group heads.
    • Ensuring that proper internal financial control procedures and checks are in place for your Service Group to maintain the integrity of the accounting records, and to minimize risk of errors and omissions, and misappropriation of company assets.
    • Responsibility for the finance component of delivering annual budget data and monthly cash and forecasts in accordance with predetermined deadlines and budgeting parameters.
    • Implementing corporate governance good practice together with the company secretarial department in all financial procedures, such as the AFS preparation process, contracting for new services, dividend, and loan advances etc.
    • Responsibility for ensuring that various reporting requirements imposed by contractual commitments are completed on time.
    • Implementing cost cutting measures, streamlining processes, and increasing revenue collection ability.
    • Negotiating contracts such as leases, insurance, and other supplier contracts.
    • Participating in due diligence reviews and financial analysis of other businesses, as required by the Service Group and Group Finance.
    • Assume responsibility for certain office administration, directorship, and management functions.

    Skills Required:

    • CA(SA).
    • Five years of post-articles experience, preferably in Financial Services.
    • Minimum of three years of management experience in a similar role is essential.

    • Strong managerial skills with the ability to motivate and influence a team.
    • Experience in multi-currency, multi-company, and multi-jurisdictional accounting will be advantageous.

    Administrator - Company Secretary

    • We are seeking for a proactive and detail-oriented Administrator to join our Governance / Company Secretarial team.

    Senior Fund Accountant - UK Fund Accounting

    Description

    • The role of the Senior Fund Accountant – UK Fund Accounting will be to perform and provide assurance on UK fund valuations as produced by the UK Fund Accounting Team.
    • The main responsibilities of the role include the management, administration and accounting.

    Job specification

    • The relevant experience includes at least 24 months experience in asset management portfolio administration and pricing of offshore funds
    • Proven competence and an aptitude for working with systems and its integration

    • Computer literate with an excellent working knowledge of MS office & IT packages (particularly Excel)
