    Trait Integration Specialist

    We’re hiring to join our Trait Integration team

    • As a Trait Integration team, we are responsible for efficiently delivering inbred lines converted to transgenic herbicide tolerant and/or insect resistant traits. These converted inbred lines contribute to protecting hybrid yields against insect and weed pressure, supporting our goal to feed the world through innovation and integrity.  

    Your Challenge: 

    • Must have the ability to meet deadlines, show attention to detail, succeed in a team environment, and use a computer and other data collection devices 
    • Support and manage nursery staff where such a need is identified, enabling a high standard in conversion quality. 
    • Ensure full implementation of quality management protocols and ensure safety operating procedures is in place for all routine tasks 
    • Ensure that data are collected accurately and consistently uploaded to databases.  
    • Planning and executing nursery operations at the site, including the use of proprietary software. 
    • Assist with planting, transplanting, sampling, data collection and harvesting in greenhouses. 
    • Ensure that the work area is kept safe, clean, and orderly 
    • Phenotypic and genotypic selections in field and greenhouse nurseries 
    • Participate in and lead seed processing activities, including seed preparation, sorting, shelling, and inventory management 
    • May be required to work overtime, public holidays, and some weekends when needed to perform core duties 
    • Ability to work independently and in multidisciplinary team environment 
    • Required to travel to other nurseries sites in other RSA regions on a regular basis  
    • Multitasking, working under pressure, being hands-on and being proactive are essential for success in this role 
    • Work with Genetically Modified Organisms in accordance with government regulations and internal company policies 
    • Regularly scout greenhouses and have continual visits to ensure optimum plant development and health 
    • Analyze operational efficiency metrics of work performance and processes to ensure continuous improvement through innovation.

    • Participate and lead training, guidance, and supervision of the activities of assistants and temporary employees

    Qualifications - Internal

    Intern-Commercial-JHB Warehouse

    Fundamentals

    Major responsibilities

    • Contributing to events held by Stoller for partners, with regard to: setting up the structure, laptop, sound, hiring food and drink for the day and reserving physical space for the event;
    • You will not be responsible for giving lectures and training sessions.
    • Contributing to gathering information on competitors. Building good relationships channel sales staff; Contribute indirectly to Stoller's progress in the region, always being aware of customers and possible needs, to pass on to the TSR.

    Field Testing Lead

    We’re hiring a Field-Testing Lead.

    • As Field-Testing Lead, you will be responsible for the overall coordination of the Seed Product Development testing team for all field-testing efforts assigned to the research center including dry west, water tables and irrigation locations for all crops and all testing types and act as a key contact for these activities. As the Field-Testing Lead, you will also be responsible for the development and elaboration of the field-testing budget and routine budget reviews.     • You will be part of the Rosslyn laboratory Centlab team, the lab’s objective is to provide reliable, accurate and repeatable seed quality test results on time to our stakeholders. This objective is carried through by conducting specialized product tests such as seed sizing, germination test, vigour test and purity test. Monitor testing to ensure testing protocols, steps for conducting tests, are applied in order to adhere to policies , procedures, business objectives, regulations, ISTA standards, ISO standards and guidelines.

    Supply Chain Manager - Crop Protection - AME

    • The incumbent will lead Africa Crop Protection Supply Chain, be responsible for delivering the financial and service level objectives for the region and be accountable for AME supply chain within the EMEA Supply Chain Leadership Team. The incumbent will be responsible to plan and implement the best supply Chain for the region to enable Business Growth, while aligns with Global Supply Chain. The scope of work encompasses all activities within Logistics, Modify and Improve Supply Chain, Deployment planning and EHS through adherence to work process, people management and close connection with internal stakeholders.

    KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Deployment Planning Team Leader is a key responsibility to provide people leadership of the team, who deploys the commercial goods, including strategy, organizational design, inventory management and create engagement among commercial units with regards to supply chain operations. Detailed responsibilities include:
    • Develop and implement strategies at finished goods level including deployment, unhealthy inventory and improvement plans.
    • Provide people leadership for direct reports through mentoring, coaching, career development and performance management.
    • Scrutinize the commercial inventory, ensure its compliance with corporate working capital strategies.

    • University master’s degree in supply chain or business management or sciences & Technical field
    • Minimum of 5-10 years’ experience in Agriculture or similar field
    • Supply Chain experience, Manufacturing, scheduling, and planning experiences.
    • Project Management experience (Lean, Six Sigma)
    • APICS CPIM certification
    • Strong analytical skills
    • Fluent in English
    • Strong communication skills & teamwork.  Ability to establish strong networks, relationships, and disciplined communication with key stakeholders.
    • Strong organizational skills, including the ability to effectively prioritize work and escalate when help is needed.
    • Innovative mindset to create within current organizational constraints, while continuously challenging the status quo for agility as an industry leader.
    • Experience in Africa Supply Chain is a must.
    • Experience in Supply Chain Crop Protection (preferred)
    • Knowledge of Order to Cash (preferred)
    • SAP experience (preferred)
