    Credit Risk Associate

    About the job

    • We’re on the lookout for a sharp, analytical thinker to join a dynamic and collaborative credit risk team in Johannesburg. If you’re someone who enjoys digging into the details, spotting risks before they become issues, and working with people across different functions and time zones, this could be your next step.
    • What the role involves: You’ll play a key part in monitoring and managing credit exposure to a global portfolio of counterparties — from banks and corporates to government-related entities. This includes reviewing financials, recommending credit limits, and staying ahead of any changes in risk profiles.
    • You’ll also be working closely with commercial and legal teams on deal structures, making sure the right credit protections are in place. It’s a fast-paced environment, so being organized, calm under pressure, and good with people matters just as much as technical skills.

    We’re looking for someone who:

    • Has around 3 to 5 years of experience in credit risk — ideally within a bank, trading firm, or similar environment
    • Understands financial statements and knows what to look for in a credit review
    • Communicates well and can build solid working relationships across different teams
    • Is comfortable juggling multiple priorities and deadlines
    • Has a degree in finance, economics, accounting, or something similar
    • Is confident using Excel; bonus points if you’ve worked with Power BI

    Where you’ll fit in:

    • You’ll report to a senior credit risk lead and be part of a global team that values thoughtful analysis, good judgment, and clear communication. This is a great opportunity to grow your career in a role that has real impact on the business.
