    Visual Merchandiser - Poetry (KZN)

    Job Description:

    We are seeking a talented and creative Retail Visual Merchandiser to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for creating visually appealing displays to attract and engage customers, drive sales, and enhance the overall shopping experience. As a key member of our retail team, you will get directive from the VM Brand Lead and collaborate closely with store managers and other departments to execute visual merchandising strategies that align with our brand image and objectives.

    Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Support the management of the visual proposition by promoting the brand merchandise and delivering an exceptional standard of visual presentation both in store and in the windows.
    • Be aware of sales budgets, mystery shops, VM visits and model store.
    • Support the installation of all window schemes to an excellent standard, and maintain on a daily basis.
    • Style all mannequins, to be dressed to guidelines depending on stock and sell-throughs.
    • Participate in staff meetings, as needed and keep the team up to date with moves, direction and changes.
    • Implement with the support of the Store Managers, the brand visual guidelines.
    • Apparel : Map the floor space to segment the store within collections looking at the stores new and existing product lines.   
    • Living : Map the floor space to segment the store within categories taking in consideration volume and adjacencies of product as well as looking at the stores new and existing product lines.   
    • Support with the pre planning, delivery and execution of Sale and Model store.
    • Maintain strong product knowledge.
    • Execute and ensure that all merchandise principles are adhered to by the stores.
    • Support the Store Managers in training the store team on visual execution and standards.
    • Assist the VM Co-Ordinator in the execution, coaching and training of brand and seasonal guidelines within store.
    • Walk the windows daily to identify product challenges and daily standards of presentation
    • Work in collaboration with the key department managers to achieve best VM standards for the store.
    • Support the delivery of marketing events in the location.
    • Develop strong relationships with other VM teams. Contributing to HO VM meetings where necessary.
    • Assist the VM Co-Ordinator by contributing to Model store guidelines.

     Requirements:

    • Matric | Grade 12, relevant tertiary qualifications are advantageous.
    • Microsoft Office efficient.
    • Willing to travel in region with own car and valid car license.
    •  3+ years retail experience with the ability to follow brand guidelines and understand the basics of Visual merchandising.
    • Strong stakeholder management skills and the ability to build relationships with ease.
    • Creative, commercially aware and confident decision maker, communicating with impact across all levels.
    • Ability to work independently as well as part of the broader team.
    • Work well with change, being able to quickly adapt and work with pace.

    Pattern Maker - Contract Role

    Job Summary

    An exciting career opportunity for a Pattern Maker at our Green Thread – Design Studio. The incumbent must have Design Centre or manufacturing working experience with sound technical knowledge in pattern and garment construction.

    Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Must be able to make Manual Patterns as well as Digital (Gerber).
    • Ensure consistent fit and sizing for all new developments.
    • Ability to create patterns from samples as well as pictures.
    • Maintaining a pattern library and blocks to speed up pattern making.
    • Consistent and methodical approach to pattern changes for various fabric bases.
    • Create finished pattern specification sheets, as well as trim specifications and measurements.
    • Work closely with seamstress and Garment Technologist to ensure that the garment will be cost effective and production friendly.

    Requirements:

    • Grade 12 / Matric
    • Relevant Tertiary Qualification is preferred.
    • Minimum 5 years pattern making experience in a similar environment.
    • Must have experience in men’s and ladies’ patterns.
    • Excellent Computer skills (Excel and Outlook.)
    • Gerber Pattern Making essential.
    • Strong technical knowledge in pattern and garment construction.
    • Preference will be given to candidates with previous working experience in a Design Centre or manufacturing.
