    Senior Risk Officer - East London

    Purpose

    • Reporting to the Legal Advisor/Board Secretary, the Senior Risk Officer will implement the risk management framework with appropriate tools for the measurement, reporting, and control of the entity’s risks to improve the level of risk maturity within the ECPTA.

    Requirements

    • B. Com Degree in Accounting/Risk Management or relevant equivalent qualification with at least 5 (five) years’ relevant experience in Risk Management.
    • Valid driver’s license.

    Key Performance Areas

    • Risk management: Implement risk management strategies, policies, plans, and processes.
    • Risk awareness and prevention: Promote ethics and professionalism within the ECPTA. Coordinate risk management trainings, workshops etc.
    • Reporting: Compile risk and compliance reports. Report to the Audit and Risk Committee on the risk status of the entity.
    • Risk management administration: Develop and maintain a general filing and retrieval system for risk management.

    Manager: Strategic Planning Performance Monitoring and Reporting

    Purpose Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, the Manager: Strategic Planning, Performance Monitoring and Reporting will direct and manage the ECPTA’s strategic and annual performance planning in accordance with the Constitution, the Public Finance Management Act (PFMA), 1999 (Act 1 of 1999), prescripts of the Departments of National Treasury and Planning, Monitoring and Evaluation (DPME), translate strategy into operational plans, to monitor and evaluate the entity’s performance, and report to management structures and oversight bodies.

    Requirements

    • NQF Level 8 in Public Administration or relevant equivalent with at least 10 (ten) years’ relevant experience in managing and reporting on the processes in government.
    • Valid driver’s license.

    Key Performance Areas

    • Management of Organisational strategy and annual performance plan (APP) development: Conceptualise, design, develop and implement a strategic management framework to integrate the strategic planning, financial planning, business planning and the performance management process of the entity. Manage the coordination of strategy planning processes.
    • Statutory reporting: Develop and oversee planning, monitoring, evaluation, and reporting (PMER) policies and frameworks. Generate statutory reports (quarterly, half year, and annual) for Provincial Treasury and the department of economic development etc. Prepare the portfolio of evidence for the internal audit unit to conduct the second level of quality assurance and respond to any queries.
    • Entity-wide Performance Management: Coordinate performance reporting across every unit in the entity. Assist executives and managers to utilise the PMER process as a mechanism for improving delivery against objectives. Prepare for the annual audit of predetermined objective by the Auditor General and respond to any queries and qualifications.
    • MANCO/CEO support: Summarise statutory reports into a digestible format. Assist the MANCO to market the organisation by combining relevant information from different statutory reports by collaborating with the Communications and Marketing Managers.
    • People Management: Manage the performance of subordinates in accordance with the policies and procedures of the ECPTA. Develop Personal Development Plans for subordinates and ensure implementation.

    Security Manager

    Purpose
    The Security Manager will manage the law enforcement, security and control room and associated technological infrastructure of the reserve through goal orientated management that is aligned with the conservation objectives of the protected area.

    Requirements

    • 3 (three) year tertiary qualification in Nature Conservation / Environmental Management
    • 5 (five) years experience with an emphasis on Law Enforcement, Security and
    • Conservation Management.
    • Proficient in Microsoft Office and GIS
    • Firearm Competency Certificate
    • EMI Certificate
    • Driver Licence Code 8
    • No Criminal Record
    • Counter poaching experience will be an added advantage

    Key Performance Areas

    • Financial Management: Facilitate the Procurement specialist goods in accordance with SCM Policy.
    • People Management: Manage the performance of subordinate staff.
    • Biodiversity and Heritage Management: Provide specialist input towards Develop of subsidiary plans to offset risk to biodiversity.
    • Law Enforcement: Assist with the identification of thresholds of potential concern and develop mitigation methods.
    • Stakeholder Management: Participate in Liaison Forums to discuss management issues.
    • Strategic Management: Assist in the implantation of Species Management Plans for priority species.
