    Safety Coordinator: Occupational Health, Safety and Environment

    Qualification and experience required:

    • National Diploma (Safety Management) - NQF Level 5.
    • Valid Code EB driver’s licence.
    • Computer literacy in Office applications.
    • One to two years’ relevant work experience.

    Key attributes and competencies:

    • Interpersonal and communication skills.
    • Monitoring and report-writing skills.
    • Physically fit and able-bodied.

    Job purpose:

    • Coordinating tasks/activities pertaining to implementation, monitoring, and reporting sequences of outcomes associated with Safety Management through the coordination of operations associated with the enforcement of policies, procedures and practices dictating health and safety in the Municipality, and execution of investigation of accidents/investigations.
    • As part of the selection process, candidates may be tested on any requirement, skill or competency, which will include pre-employment screening, medical examination, security vetting and psychometric assessment.
    • Fringe benefits will include membership of a Retirement Fund, Medical Aid Scheme, Group Life Assurance Scheme, participation in a Housing Subsidy and Car Schemes (subject to the conditions of the various Schemes), and normal leave and sick leave benefits

    Senior Safety Officer

    Requirements:

    • Relevant tertiary qualification.
    • Code EC driver’s licence.
    • Computer literacy in Office applications.
    • Three to four years’ relevant work experience.

    Competencies:

    • Report-writing and communication skills.
    • Analytical, planning and coordination skills.
    • Ability to formulate Occupational Health and Safety policies, programmes, and legislative standards for implementation.
    • Physically fit and able-bodied.

    Job purpose:

    • Coordinating the implementation, monitoring, evaluation and reporting sequences of outcomes associated with Safety Management through the co-ordination of operations associated with the enforcement of policies, procedures and practices dictating health and safety in the Municipality, development and maintenance of Occupational Health and Safety Programs, and coordination and execution of investigation of accidents/investigations.

    Assistant Manager: Workshops

    Qualifications and experience required:

    • Trade-tested Artisan - Automotive Discipline.
    • A valid Code B driver’s licence.
    • Three to four years’ relevant experience.
    • Physically fit and able-bodied.

    The incumbent should possess:

    • Operational control and coordination skills.
    • Evaluation and inspection skills.
    • Resource planning and communication skills.
    • Supervisory and monitoring skills.
    • General administration and planning skills.

    Job purpose:

    • Coordinating and controlling the workshop operations pertaining to the repairs and maintenance of municipal vehicles, inclusive of monitoring and implementing procedures, establishing resource requirements, planning, and scheduling maintenance programmes, and evaluating outcomes. Monitoring and attending to deviations in productivity and performance and attending to specific administrative and information reporting requirements and processes.
