    Quality Improvement Team Leader - East London

    Description

    Right to Care is looking for a suitable qualified Quality Improvement Team Leader  to be based in East London.

    Requirements

        Minimum Required Qualifications and Experience 

    • Diploma in General Nursing
    • VMMC training
    • Quality Improvement training
    • 2 years in VMMC Service provision as a Professional Nurse
    • 1 year Experience in Public Health setting
    • 1 year Experience in VMMC Quality Improvement

         Desirable Qualifications and Experience 

    • Bachelor's degree in nursing science
    • Infection Prevention and control course/training

    Data Capturer - Ehlanzeni

    Description

    To capture, update, clean, and maintain quality of patients’ medical records, relating to the delivery of Right to Care-supported HIV services at the clinic, on the relevant electronic/paper patient register/database used in the clinic

    Requirements

      Minimum Required Qualifications and Experience

    • Matric
    • Post-matric certificate in computer literacy including Excel, OR equivalent experience
    • Basic knowledge of HIV/AIDS
    • Proficiency in English
    • 1 year experience in data capturing
    • Experience in working at APACE programme
    • 1 year’experience in data capturing on Tier.Net which is a programme used at the Department of Health
    • 1 year’experience in Capturing on QODE programme.
    • Must have 1 year’ experience in achieving programme outcomes within the Thabo Mofutsanyana region
    • Must have 1-year experience in liaising with TM NDOH and familiar with their SOPs
    • Must be a resident of TM or surrounding areas.

          Key Performance Areas

    • Capture all relevant patient data relating to HIV/TB services from paper files/paper patient register onto the relevant electronic database daily, including data relating to current visits as well as data relating to past visits (historical data)

    Programme Assistant - Thabo Mofutsanyane

    Description

    Data Management:

    • Capture and scan all consent and follow-up forms from Right to Care-supported VMMC sites onto various systems.
    • Ensure data accuracy by identifying data quality errors and communicate these to the relevant stakeholders.
    • Submit / escalate daily error reports to the relevant programme staff.
    • Reach daily data capturing targets as set by the relevant programme staff.

    Quality Assurance:

    • Verify the completeness and accuracy of information captured against the source document.
    • Conduct initial verification of source documents against error template prior to capturing.
    • Manage individual follow-ups of queried source documents within one week of initial query.

    Administration:

    • Order VMMC-related materials and forms as required by the clinical and data teams.
    • Ensure that data capturing administration is completed as per the agreed checklist / standard operating procedure.
    • Complete and submit monthly vehicle checklists and fuel slips.
    • Manage petty cash inclusive of monthly reconciliation reporting to finance.
    • Facilitate all procurement requests on behalf of district teams.

    Office Management:

    • Coordinate travel and meetings as per requests from District Programme Coordinators and District teams.
    • Manage assets and warehousing by receiving and transferring assets and keeping inventories up to date.
    • Assure quality of storerooms in district offices and/or hospitals by administering stock control visits.
    • Administer vehicle maintenance as per requests received from district teams.
    • Implement day-to-day office management duties including (but not limited to) cleaning oversight, safety and security, hospitality and filing.

    Requirements

    Required Minimum Qualifications:

    • Matric (Senior Certificate)
    • A relevant certificate in Office Administration.

    Desirable Qualifications:

    • A tertiary qualification (diploma / degree) in a relevant field.

    Required Minimum Experience:

    • Computer literacy and working knowledge of various Microsoft Office (specifically Microsoft Excel) packages.
    • Minimum of two years office administrative support and VMMC data handling experience required.

    Desirable Experience:

    Demand Creation Coordinator - Mpumalanga

    Description

    KEY PERFORMANCES

    • Ensure integration between the demand creation, Clinical, M&E and CQI teams in the implementation of demand creation planning, implementation, evaluation and monitoring.
    • Lead the planning of provincial interpretation of demand creation strategies and ensure that all demand creation strategy implementation is done in collaboration with the above-mentioned RTC teams.
    • Develop advocacy and awareness strategies that align with the provincial context of social and traditional norms relating to VMMC.
    • Collaborating with the Demand Creation Manager and the Provincial and District Department of Health, participate in developing a provincial VMMC advocacy and demand creation plan.
    • Assist in developing IEC materials in collaboration with the national demand creation team.

       

    • Engagement with internal RTC and external stakeholders (government departments, CBOs, PEPFAR partners) to achieve VMMC program targets and deliverables
    • VMMC saturation and targeted implementation planning using GIS mapping for appropriate activity, continually adjusting during peak and low seasons to maintain maximum outputs and alignment with available resources.
    • Community mapping through identification of Stakeholders involved in VMMC e.g., Traditional Circumcision forums, Chiefs, Ward Counsellors, Church leaders and Governmental Institutions like the Department of Education, COGTA, Health and local Municipalities.
    • Lead the planning and coordination of Community Imbizos.
    • Establish and actively nurture relations with the Department of Education to facilitate collaboration in the provision of education about VMMC benefits.
    • Develop, manage, monitor, and keep inventory for all demand creation assets, supplies, materials, and equipment allocated to the province.
    • Conduct monthly ordering and printing of IEC materials, promotional material, Gazebo, vouchers, Airtime for demand creation teams, and other consumables utilised for demand creation activities.
    • Instil a culture of using data for decision-making as part of a core philosophy of demand creation. 
    • Weekly and monthly reporting of demand creation data at facility-level according to the established M&E framework. Analyse data to monitor performance and to develop VMMC campaigns that will increase performance.
    • Ensure that targets are appropriately understood and implemented based on geographic areas, teams and individuals.
    • Conduct weekly and monthly VMMC feedback meetings with Demand Creation Officers, District Coordinators, Operations Manager and Demand Creation Managers to discuss progress towards targets, strategies to reach targets, and solutions if targets are not being met.
    • Assess effectiveness of current demand creation strategies and advocate for alternative strategies.
    • Submit weekly and monthly, quarterly, and annual reports to the Operations and Demand Creation Managers.
    • Compile and debrief meetings minutes with Operational, Demand Creation Manager, District Coordinators, and Demand Creation Officers to discuss progress
    • Receive and analyse weekly reports submitted by Demand Creation officers.
    • Submit monthly plans and monthly reports to the Demand Creation Manager and Operation Mangers respectively.
    • Actively engage with internal and external stakeholders to benefit demand creation strategies and campaign implementation. Ensure that a stakeholder matrix is kept up to date and report monthly on the grow in stakeholder relations and collaboration with PEPFAR partners, CBOs, civil society, community members, ward counsellors, traditional councils, VMMC ambassadors and champions.
    • Identify collaboration opportunities with RTC programmes and outside stakeholders that will benefit the demand creation function of the programme.

    Requirements

    Minimum Required Qualifications and Experience.

    • Certificate in Marketing, communication, Public Relations or any related qualification
    • 2-year experience in public health advocacy marketing or communications preferably in VMMC or HIV programmes. Excellent Excel proficiency, experience in monitoring and evaluation and reporting.

    Desirable Required Qualifications and Experience.

    • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, Communication or Public Relations.
    • Experience in Coordinating Social mobilization, Communication and Advocacy. In-depth knowledge, and experience of VMMC. Fluent in local language and excellent written and verbal communication in both English and the local language.
    • 3 years’ experience in Communication, Awareness and Advocacy

    Enrolled Nurse X5 (Bojanala x2 and Ngaka Modiri Molema x3)

    Description

     Key Perfprmance Areas:

    • Obtain informed consent from clients by providing them with essential information as per the National Department of Health (NDoH) and PEPFAR VMMC/HTS guidelines. 
    • Provide age- and culturally appropriate group and individual counselling to clients within language of their understanding.
    • Screen patients for Sexually Transmitted Infections (STIs) as per current STI guidelines and Tuberculosis (TB) by asking the four standard TB screening questions and refer patients accordingly.
    • Ensure that the key elements of VMMC education are included in counselling sessions (i.e. risks, benefits, description of surgery, explanation of partial protective effect of VMMC procedure, VMMC being a permanent procedure, importance of knowing HIV status, and post-operative care).
    • Conduct pre- and post-HIV counselling and testing as per most recent NDoH HTS guidelines.
    • Respect and ensure client confidentiality     

        Clinical Output·    

         Health Care to all VMMC clients, in line with your Enrolled Nursing scope of practice and WHO/NDOH Guidelines.

    • Provide follow-up care in line VMMC SAG/WHO guidelines.
    • Conduct wound care management in all VMMC clients
    • Conduct and record Pre, and Post-operative care for all clients.
    • Provide health education to all clients  
    • Record personal and contact information of newly tested HIV positive clients in the linkage to care and treatment register.
    • Conduct Active and/or supported linkage to care and treatment of all newly diagnosed HIV positive clients.
    • Ensure all clients tested HIV positive are linked to care and started treatment and record on the register accordingly
    • Confirm that all linked clients have reached a care and treatment facility within a week of referral.
    • Follow up on all linked clients at one-, three- and six months into care and treatment.
    • Verify that all linked clients are still in care and treatment and adhere to their treatment.
    • Receive and process all HIV negative clients that are referred from HTS partners for VMMC services.    ·    

          Conduct regular proficiency tests on HIV testing kits as per most recent guidelines.

    • Ensure participation in HIV Rapid Testing Quality Improvement Initiative (RTQII)
    • Conduct quality assurance procedures on each testing kit.  These procedures must include checking the expiry date and integrity of the test kits before use.
    • Adhere to the National HIV testing algorithm and process as per the most recent HTS guidelines.
    • Ensure all required documents are available for a client to be circumcised
    • Ensure the use of job aids during counselling/MMC education
    • Ensure all follow-up and review of clients are conducted and documented accordingly.
    • Ensure Emergency Management/Referral Protocol are adhered to.
    • Ensure completeness of client records
    • Adherence to Infection Prevention and Control Standards
    • Assist in making sure that clinic is prepared according to QA requirements.
    • Adhere to the set standards of the program     ·    

    Properly and accurately record all clients’ essential personal and demographic details in the NDoH client VMMC Input Tool, Right to Care consent form (Lynx Form) and HTS registers.

    • Properly and accurately fill in the Right to Care consent forms.
    • Ensure that all informed consent forms have been properly signed by clients or their parents / guardians.
    • Compile and submit monthly reports of all linked clients as required.
    • Compile and submit monthly reports of HTS indicators as per the agreed reporting template and submission deadline.
    • Assist in verification of all data before reporting.  

    Requirements

         Minimum Qualifications and Experience

    • Matric (Senior Certificate)
    • Enrolled nurse Certificate
    • Two to three years working experience as an Enrolled Nurse.
    • One-year counselling experience.

          Desired Qualifications and Experience 

    • HTS Certificate (10-day certificate)
    • VMMC counselling certificate
    • Code B or C1 driver’s license
    • Two years counselling experience.
    • VMMC - Nursing related and/or HTS-related counselling experience will be advantageous.
