    Factory Manager - Randburg

    THE JOB AT A GLANCE

    • Responsible for the management of the factory, including manufacturing, maintenance, despatch, stores, quality control, and health and safety.

    RESPONSIBILITIES

    WHAT YOU WILL DO

    Throughput

    • Monitor plant efficiency
    • Number of mixing stoppages or breakdowns
    • Resolve controls management

    Yields and cost control

    • Track and manage cost of production
    • -Ingredients
    • -Packaging
    • -Waste management
    • Manage budgets
    • Manage cost drivers
    • Deploy cost saving strategies and plans
    • Adhere to BMR to ensure audit requirements are met
    • Manage and control labour cost in line with budget

    Damages

    • Conduct root cause analysis to determine why damages are occurring
    • Implement and manage process and stakeholders to ensure issue is resolved
    • Escalate to National office where CAPEX is required and complete CAPEX documentation

    Quality

    • Implement process checks to ensure recipes are aligned to standard
    • Implement and ensure adherence to Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s)
    • Ensure achievement of required score on Quality audits
    • Consumer complaints

    Logistics

    • Manage departure times
    • Ensure adherence to loading schedules
    • Ensure conformance to quality standards
    • Monitor inter-Bakery ordering and on time delivery

    Bake Plan

    • Ensure right product produced at right time
    • Ensure sufficient levels of raw materials are available
    • Ensure stock count is done and signed off daily

    Hygiene

    • Manage cleaning structures
    • Enforce the use of correct PPE
    • Manage stakeholders such as waste management, pest control.
    • Ensure cleaning schedules are enforced and adhered to.

    Health, Safety and Environment

    • Conduct monthly safety meetings
    • Manage Safety Officers
    • Ensure and maintain safe working conditions for employees and equipment based on risk assessments and compliance with OHSAct.
    • Instill an environmentally conscious mindset within the manufacturing environment (H2O, noise pollution, utilities, landfill)

    People Management

    • Promote a high performance culture.
    • Engage regularly with employees through invocoms, union engagements.
    • Identify and develop Talent and competency gap closing actions.
    • Ensure training is undertaken as per PDP’s
    • Ensure workplace discipline and manage ER issues in line with Tiger Brands policies and procedures.

    Millwright - Germiston

    THE JOB AT A GLANCE

    The Millwright needs to ensure that all Albany Germiston equipment is maintained in order to have minimum breakdowns and that the plant availability is in accordance to set standards. The Millwright would need to maintain mechanical equipment in good order by adhering to maintenance procedures to enable Production Department to meet production targets. 

    RESPONSIBILITIES

    WHAT YOU WILL DO

    • Machinery available and utilized to full capacity
    • Planned maintenance executed and improved operational efficiency at all machines assigned to the position

    • Preventative maintenance

    QUALIFICATIONS

    • Qualifications: Matric or equivalent and N3 Electrical Engineering and or Mechanical Engineering. Electro-mechanics Trade Test
    • Must be able to work overtime, weekends and public holidays
    • Knowledge of bakery machinery
    • Knowledge of pneumatic & hydraulic systems will be an advantage

    Maintenance Coordinator - Germiston

    THE JOB AT A GLANCE:

    Supports the Maintenance Manager in ensuring that the plant is mechanically operational at all times, through direct daily communication with engineering staff. You will be in charge of performing all tasks relate to maintenance and the general upkeep of your area. This role is responsible for ensuring documentation of all maintenance activities is up to date and stored. In this role you will be responsible for devising maintenance plans to mitigate breakdowns, this involves maintenance protocol for all machinery as well as daily upkeep for non-mechanical maintenance.  Ensure that the OHS act are adhered to ensure a safe working environment, Asset Management (Pragma Maintenance System), daily planning and Capex & Facility plan management, staff leadership. You will be responsible for Asset care management in your designated area of responsibility.

    RESPONSIBILITIES
