    PSE Inventory Manager

    JOB STATEMENT

    Primarily responsible for the Inventory management on Metso Outotec Owned Inventory (MOI) consignment agreements, and secondarily for spares for Repairs and SVS Upgrades projects. Consignment inventory is the preferred tool to increase sales, customer satisfaction and brand loyalty. Customer Consignment inventory is any inventory legally owned by Metso Outotec but reserved for the exclusive use of a customer under contractual agreement.

    The inventory can be in Metso Outotec owned warehouse locations or at the defined party´s premises, but preferably on a customer premises. However, the inventory needs to be managed carefully to ensure that the benefits contribute to Metso Outotec profitability targets and our customers satisfaction.


    Repairs and SVS Upgrades and Modernisation Projects are two critical functions offered by Metso Outotec PSE to extend the life expectancy of Metso Outotec equipment. Completion of these projects are critical to customers and any delay in obtaining spares for these projects could cost our customers to lose production and for Metso Outotec to lose credibility and future sales

    JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Ensures MOI Contractual Agreements minimal requirements are understood and implemented in MA Africa
    • Works with the Global and Market Area commercial proposals team to evaluate and select of the optimum SAP Consignment Model for each customer proposal
    • Considers all factors when deciding on the SAP model for the consigned inventory.
    • Works with Technical Sales Support (TSS) and commercial proposal teams to identify and specify the correct Inventory Items’ Selection, Safety Stock and Reorder Points to suit each customer proposal
    • Assists the Commercial Proposals & TSS with the Integrated Services Solutions (ISS) Approval Process for new consignment agreements, amendments and renewals.
    • Ensures approval requests are documented with the MOI Estimate Sheet and the MOI Approval Form
    • Responsible for end-to-end Consigned Inventory Management and Monitoring.
    • Starting with creating bill of material per signed project, confirming suppliers with Metso Outotec Sourcing department, placing the demand in the applicable system, tracking progress throughout manufacturing process, tracking delivery and ultimately managing the inventory in the designated storage locations. 
    • Sets up a Stock Management system which will include assigning regional personnel to regularly visit designated storage locations to do cycle count and is also responsible for stock adjustments and assist external stock audits
    • Consolidates a record of all consumptions from the designated storage locations and assists the Life Cycle Service (LCS) administrators to invoice according to the agreed pricing
    • Works with the Africa Market Area LCS Contracts manager to optimise the stock holding in all MOI storage locations to reduce wastage, over and understocking and eliminate unnecessary logistic cost
    • Works closely with the regional LCS management, LCS Contracts Manager and regional Sales and Services teams to monitor contract performance on all inventory related service activities
    • For Repairs and SVS Projects Bill of Material (BOM), the Inventory Manager will be responsible for the loading of the demand for spares and wears for refurbishment projects depending on the plan handed over from the project managers or coordinators
    • Works with the Business Lines (BL) Delivery management teams to track deliveries from suppliers to final delivery in the designated storage locations
    • Works with Africa Market Area Logistics to ensure the optimal delivery routes are selected to prevent any delays
    • Provides regular feedback to project managers / coordinators on expected delivery times for spares

    QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

    • Matric (Grade 12)
    • Any recognized commercial degree with a minimum of 10 years’ experience or similar qualification and 15 years’ experience in a product support or services role preferably in a heavy engineering or mining industry
    • Experience in Metso Outotec or similar Original Equipment Manufacturing (OEM) procurement, delivery, logistics and warehousing practices will be a major advantage.
    • Experience in commercial contract management in the services or product support environment would be a great advantage
    • Knowledge of best practices in planning, inventory management and logistic execution on a long-term performance contract
    • Experience working in a customer-focused and fast-paced professional environment.
    • Knowledge of Metso Outotec SAP, reporting tools and products will be a huge advantage

    WORKING CONDITIONS:

    • 60% on contract sites and 40% in office
    • Frequent travel in Africa will be required

    • Ability to effectively communicate defined OEM inventory guidelines and practices to the customers
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills in English

    E&I Techncian

    JOB STATEMENT
    This position is responsible for providing Metso Outotec customers with professional technical support for its products. This position will coordinate and work closely with the LCS Management Teams to assure a common understanding/application of technical support and information to support and provide excellent customer service on Metso Outotec Equipment.

    JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Clean, inspections on electrical equipment
    • Attend to breakdowns
    • Have knowledge of PLC systems
    • Remove equipment, installation, repairs (drives, electric motors, Scada systems, etc.)
    • Conduct preventative maintenance on instrumentation and electrical equipment
    • Required to conduct standby duties
    • May be required to work shift as part of the business requirements
    • Maintaining 5S within the working environment
    • Willingness to assist in additional reasonable tasks on hand
    • Maximize performance on all equipment’s
    • Complete job cards, logbooks, and inspection reports
    • Conduct safety inspections
    • Compile electrical schedules for the plant

    QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

    • Grade 12 (Matric)
    • Trade tested E&I Technician red seal
    • Three (3) to four (4) years apprenticeship program.
    • Minimum 5 years field service experience on Metso Outotec equipment, Mining equipment, and Larox Filters
    • Computer Literate
    • Understanding our principles of customer relations and interaction
    • Ability to effectively communicate with a drive and performance orientation
    • Ability to work in a team atmosphere

    • A self-motivated individual with the ability to work under stress and meet deadlines
    • Good communication, co-operation, and interpersonal skills

    • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to sit; use hands and fingers; reach with hands and arms, and talk or hear.

    • Exposure to internal and external environmental conditions, noise, hazards
    • The employee must lift and/or move up to 15 kg
    • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, colour vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus
    • Use of keyboards, telephones, copiers, telefax, visits, and movement.
    • Own Transport to and from the site
    • Must reside within the Mogalakwena district. And be able to be on-site within 45min from a breakdown callout
