    Financial Accountant

    The Financial Accountant reports directly to the Senior Financial Accountant. This position is responsible for producing accurate financial statements for the companies that they work across. This position is required to prepare the monthly VAT-, provisional tax- and income tax returns and submit to the Senior Financial Accountant. They are required to process the required journals at month-end and load all information on Xero/NetSuite. Internal Liaison takes place with the accounts and treasury team. External liaison takes place with SARS and auditors.

    Duties And Responsibilities (Include But Is Not Limited To)

    • Ensure that the bank accounts are being reconciled daily.
    • Investigate and escalate any transactions older than 2 days
    • Check that daily feeds are updated daily
    • Compile and submit financial accounts packs to the Senior Financial Accountant by the 11th of the month
    • Identify issues and items to be addressed
    • Ensures that all transactions are accurately reflected in the general ledger
    • Analyses the nature of the transactions
    • Liaises with relevant personnel in Finance department to determine whether reallocations are required
    • Review all statements for the group with the Senior Financial Accountant
    • Complete the overall monthly reconciliations.
    • Check all recons created by the Bookkeepers
    • Ensure that the correct amounts are paid and that duplicate payments are not made
    • Provide guidance with regard to problems and corrective actions required
    • Check that all the journals are reconciled accurately
    • Process the inventory journals accurately
    • Check that the journals are correct
    • Identify whether the journals would require additional action to rectify it
    • Ensure spreadsheet is updated and load correctly onto Xero/NetSuite
    • Analyses the VAT transactions on a monthly basis and identifies what can be claimed
    • Completes recon to ensure accuracy
    • Compares VAT to previous month to identify large variances
    • Create recon and complete the VAT return and send to Senior Financial Accountant for signature within the specified deadline dates every month
    • Ensures all documentation related to VAT returns are filed accurately
    • Ensure that the auditors have an audit file with all relevant recons and information
    • Clarify any queries arising from the auditors
    • Address any issues identified from the audit report
    • Implement the necessary corrective actions based on audit report feedback
    • Respond to all queries from tax officials timeously
    • Resolve issues with regards to tax by emailing
    • Ensure all tax documentation is stored accurately
    • Attend weekly KPI meeting with Senior Financial Accountant
    • Attend monthly performance meeting with Senior Financial Accountant
    • Attend all required training courses for new products

    Key Requirements

    • Grade 12 or equivalent (Essential)
    • Accounting degree (Essential)
    • Studying towards CA, CIMA or SAIPA qualification (Desirable)
    • 2 - 3 years’ experience in a financial environment (Essential) or completed articles (Essential)
    • Working in a national group (Desirable)

    Regional Sales Supervisor

    This position is responsible for ensuring that all staff in their regions have all the information and documents they need in order to promote Mukuru services and sign up new customers. The Regional Sales Supervisor is responsible and accountable for all Agents and Information Officers in their region. The Regional Sales Supervisor ensures that new Agents and Information Officers are activated. They are also responsible for scouting out new areas and new locations for Info Centers.

    Internal Liaison takes place with Marketing, New Agents and Agent Support Consultants. External liaison takes place customers.

    Duties And Responsibilities (include But Is Not Limited To)

    • Oversee the sales and targets of their assigned region
    • Provide advice and guidance to Area Sales Supervisors
    • Obtain and monitor regional sales stats from Head Office
    • Motivate Areas Sales Supervisors to work towards sales targets
    • Activate new Agents for regions when needed
    • Keep track of various expenses and ensure all receipts are submitted timeously
    • Develop awareness of the Mukuru brand and services
    • Ensure sufficient stock of flyers and pamphlets are always available for Agents
    • Explain to potential customers what Mukuru does and how transfers work
    • Provide potential customers with the various locations where money can be sent
    • Uphold and professionally promote the Mukuru brand
    • Scout out and investigate feasibility of potential new locations for info centre’s
    • Establish the viability of the potential location
    • Obtain sign-off for new location
    • Make logistical arrangements for opening of new info centre’s
    • Arrange with marketing for signage and collateral
    • Carry out inspections to ensure the efficient running of info centre’s
    • Conduct 2 site visits to information centre’s each week
    • Identify potential new business leads in order to grow the region
    • Prepare for and conduct presentations on Mukuru’s products and services
    • Take responsibility for stock management and cost management in region
    • Monitor regional targets and ensure they are met
    • Create and submit weekly reports
    • Act as the company ears and eyes on the ground all record all relevant information
    • Collate all relevant information in the correct report template
    • Conduct general people management functions to ensure the effective running of the region
    • Resolve HR and IR issues for all sales staff within assigned region
    • Source new recruits for Agents and Information Officers
    • Complete all required documentation and ensure contracts are in place for new staff
    • Ensure all new staff have sufficient training before commencing employment

    Key Requirements

    • Grade 12 or equivalent (Essential)
    • Good Competency in English (listening, speaking, reading and writing)
    • 1 year’s Mukuru Area Sales Supervisor experience (Essential)

    Wallet Team Leader

    The main purpose of this role is to ensure the Wallet Customer Team is delivering World Class Service at the lowest possible cost.

    The Wallet Team Lead reports to the Head of Wallet and VAS. They are responsible for ensuring wallet customers receive World Class Service by overseeing the day to day functions of the Wallet Customer Service Team and liaising with other internal departments. This position is the highest escalation point for the Wallet Customer Team. They are responsible for ensuring all payments and service issues are resolved correctly within the set KPIs. The Wallet Team Leader is the internal champion for World Class Service, continually improving the processes and systems used within the Wallet Customer Team to increase service levels and reduce cost. The Senior VAS Controllers and VAS Controllers report directly to the Wallet Team Lead, taking responsibility for their performance management, team development and HR requirements (e.g. leave applications, disciplinary processes, etc). Internal liaison takes place with the wider Wallet & VAS team, call centre, branches and agents. External liaison takes place with all external customers and suppliers.

    Duties And Responsibilities (Includes But Is Not Limited To)

    • Take ownership of the processes and systems used within the customer service team
    • Escalate system issues directly to relevant support/IT teams to investigate and resolve
    • Identify and implement tech & non-tech improvements to processes and systems that improve service levels, reduce cost and free up capacity within the team
    • Monitor service levels and the impact of changes to systems and processes
    • Agree S.M.A.R.T deliverables with line manager on a 90-day cycle
    • Oversee the processing of all payments including high value and aged payments
    • Oversee the verification, allocation and authorisation of payments
    • Respond to escalated customer queries to ensure customer service standards are met
    • Taking action for any ticket that has not been responded to
    • Use discretion on when to process payments that are out of the ordinary or unclear for low value payment. You remain accountable for these decisions. Get sign off from HOD for your decisions on high value payments
    • Oversee and manage the user access and limits all card systems (card manager, Zendesk etc) to ensure the integrity of the system
    • Hold a monthly KPI meeting with each Wallet Customer Team member
    • Hold a monthly check-in meeting with each Wallet Customer Team member
    • Prepare for and hold bi-annual KPI meeting with each team member
    • Conduct customer service assessment for each team member by evaluating their email responses and phone calls. Assess them on their communication, ability to resolve problems and etiquette with the customer and internal staff
    • Train, coach and mentor staff as required to ensure they are meeting all behavioural standards and performance KPIs
    • Ensure staff are a good match for their roles
    • Achieve and maintain an internal NPS score of higher than 8
    • Communicate with internal stakeholders
    • Compile and submit accurate reports
    • Perform general HR and people management function to ensure company policies are being followed and team capacity is managed

    Branch Manager

    The Branch Manager reports directly to the Head of Branches.

    This position is responsible for ensuring that the Forex Consultants can process foreign exchange transactions in an accurate and professional way. The Forex Consultants and the Mukuru Ambassadors report directly to this position. They are required to manage the safes and control incoming and outgoing money. They are the first point of resolving customer as well as staff issues.

    Internal Liaison takes place with the branch staff. External liaison takes place with external customers.

    Duties And Responsibilities( Include But Is Not Limited To)

    • Manage the overall branch operations to ensure the smooth running of the branch
    • Manage the opening and closing of the safes to ensure stock is always kept safe and secure
    • Issue additional stock to consultants are required throughout the day
    • Manage the safe’s stock to ensure money is safely controlled and sufficient funds are available when required
    • Resolve customer queries and complaints in a professional and timeously manner
    • Oversee the duties of the Forex Consultants and provide assistance when required
    • Provide assistance to customers to resolve their queries timeously
    • Maintain current knowledge of foreign exchange and ICFX system

    Provincial Sales Supervisor

    The main purpose of this role is to expand and grow provinces through territory expansion as well as manage regionals.

    Duties And Responsibilities (includes But Is Not Limited To)

    • Manage the sales and targets in assigned provinces to ensure the customer base grows
