    O&M Support Technician

    • Our client is looking for a hands-on and technically astute O&M Technical Support Technician to oversee maintenance operations and provide expert-level troubleshooting support across solar and industrial installations. This role is central to ensuring high equipment uptime, system reliability, regulatory compliance, and superior service delivery.\

    Key Responsibilities
    Technical Support:

    • Take ownership of fault resolution and technical queries across projects. Perform root cause analysis (RCA) on issues and implement preventative updates to avoid recurrence. Ensure efficient and timely technical support aligned with SLAs.

    Maintenance Planning & Support:

    • Coordinate and execute planned preventative maintenance to reduce system downtime and extend asset life. Work closely with teams to ensure adherence to maintenance schedules and effective use of resources.

    Compliance:

    • Enforce adherence to safety standards, maintenance documentation protocols, and regulatory requirements. Participate in internal audits and ensure HSE standards are maintained.

    Customer Service:

The successful candidate will be responsible for creating accurate technical drawings, liaising with clients and internal departments, and supporting production processes through high-quality draughting and design work.

    Key Duties and Responsibilities:

    Experience and Knowledge

    • Minimum 10 years’ experience in an Automotive or Manufacturing Maintenance environment
    • Experience working with machinery and processes within a wheel manufacturing environment would be advantageous
    • Knowledge of energy management and energy-saving technologies
    • Strong problem-solving capability, using techniques such as 5 Why Analysis, Fishbone Analysis, or SWOT Analysis
    • Experience working with electrical systems, compressed air systems, hydraulics, and pneumatics
    • Sound knowledge of OHS Act, ISO 50001, and IATF 16949 standards
    • Proficiency in computer applications and maintenance systems, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, CMMS, and asset management systems

    Job Description

    • Greet customers and assist with enquiries in a professional manner
    • Open estimates and job cards for all work to be completed
    • Ensure estimates are sent to clients via email and that telephonic approval is obtained within one hour of booking or vehicle arrival
    • Consult with mechanics, foremen, or technical advisors regarding required repairs and alternative solutions where applicable
    • Inform clients of available campaigns for their vehicles and upsell additional labour where relevant
    • Verify warranty status, service or maintenance plans, and confirm whether work is covered or billable to the client
    • Liaise with the Parts Department to ensure timely availability of required parts
