    Electrical & Instrumentation Foreman - Kathu

    PURPOSE OF THE JOB

    • Ensures the availability of equipment by maintaining and repairing all electrical equipment and instrumentation on the mine.
    • Supervising and maintaining equipment which is used to monitor and control electrical systems, machinery and processes.
    • Oversees the on-site coordination, quality control, supervision and progress reporting of electrical equipment.

    KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS

    • Allocates and monitors the utilization of allocated funds to enable the attainment of objectives.
    • Regularly reviews, monitors and responds to spending against budget.
    • Manages and reports expenditure according to standard procedure.
    • Identifies and manages potential risks that could result in increased costs.
    • Implements electrical and instrumentation maintenance plans and shutdown schedules to support operational requirements and objectives of the business.
    • Oversees the safe and effective testing, maintenance and modification of electrical and instrumentation equipment within cost, quality and time constrained environments.
    • Oversee, manage and continuously develops the Electrical Section on the Mine
    • Ensure that all electrical statutory requirement in terms of the Mine Health and Safety Act are always complied with.
    • Manages and oversees the repair of electrical equipment and instrumentation in the event of breakdown.

    Implements, maintains and enhances electrical and instrumentation maintenance policies and processes in a manner that will ensure:

    1.   Highlighting of sub-standard performance, processes and systems.

    2.   Employees understanding their roles and being managed in a manner as to perform to the requirements of their roles.

    3.   Equipment being supplied, used and maintained in a manner supportive of the achievement of operational objective

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED

    • Grade 12 (Matric)
    • N4 in Electrical Engineering Certificate
    • Electrical Trade Test Certificate
    • A valid driver’s license

    PREFERRED QUALIFICATION

    • N6/Diploma or Higher Qualification in Electrical Engineering
    • Wireman’s License

    MINIMUM EXPERIENCE AND KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED

    • 5 years’ relevant experience within an electrical supervisor/ foreman role within a mining environment.
    • 10 years’ relevant electrical experience in the mining industry
    • A valid fitness certificate.
    • Experience on Vibrating Screens, Jaw crushers, Cone Crushers, Conveyors, Structural Repairs, Rapid Load Out Station.
    • Relevant control and instrumentation experience
    • Electrical/Instrumentation Project Execution Experience will be advantageous.

    Human Resources Business Partner (HRBP) - Kathu

    PURPOSE OF THE JOB

    • Provides strategic Human Resources (HR) counsel and support to the Tshipi leadership team and employees by coordination and implementation of the people agenda across the business, by driving effective execution of people processes including workforce planning, talent, Performance management and partnering with line to meet their workforce needs.

    KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS

    • Supports HR Manager to drive the people agenda with a relationship based  on integrity and trust as a cornerstone.
    • Ensures the efficient and effective delivery of the Business HR Strategy
    • Provides timely & professional advice and support to line managers and employees on HR related matters and audits to ensure HR standards are maintained.
    • Co-ordinates and guides facilitation of pro-active workforce planning, headcount budgeting in line with the Tshipi workforce needs and EE Plan
    • Providing recruitment support and advice to line management by managing the recruitment, selection, and placement process in line with the company’s recruitment and selection procedure i.e. coordinating workforce plans with the line manager, placing adverts, handling applicant screening, interview process pre-employment process, extension of offers and prospective employee onboarding.
    • Assists the HR Manager and Tshipi Leadership with the Talent and Performance management processes as per Tshipi established models, Policies and procedures.
    • Reports on various Human Resources activities to relevant department heads, Superintendents, supervisors (absenteeism,  timekeeping etc)
    • Coordination and management of Employee Relations related matters.
    • Provides counselling on policies and procedures to leadership and employees to ensure compliance to HR governance and standards.

    PREFERRED QUALIFICATION

    • Degree/Diploma in Human Resources or related field

    MINIMUM EXPERIENCE AND KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED

    • 5 years Business Partnering experience within a mining environment.

    Laboratory Manager - Kathu

    PURPOSE OF THE JOB

     Manages the laboratory function including the testing, evaluating and reporting of product quality in accordance with standard operating procedures and relevant regulations.

     Monitors and reports on product quality and trends to ensure the delivery of customer requirement and achievement of mine targets.

    KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS

    Financial Perspective

    1.     Interprets the operational requirements of the Laboratory function and integrate financial needs to ensure the availability of financial resources.

    2.     Delivers and manages an annual budget that represents the best estimate of costs and supports the attainment of the organization and business unit’s financial objectives.

    3. Allocates and monitors the utilization of allocated funds to enable the attainment of objectives.

    4. Regularly reviews, monitors and appropriately responds to spend against budget.

    5. Manages and reports expenditure according to financial procedure

    • Internal Business Process Perspective

    1.      Laboratory outputs and records are of a high quality.

    3.       Ensures the safe and correct storage, use and disposal of chemicals within the   laboratory.

    4.      Monitors and validates the laboratory systems and reports to ensure the accuracy and quality of laboratory outputs.

    5.      Ensures compliance to sampling and analysis standards and adherence to industry norms and best practice.

    6.      . Manages the procurement of relevant suppliers for the laboratory in conjunction with relevant organizational procedures.

    7.     . Supervises and solves technical, operational, quality and environmental issues within SHEC guidelines and parameters.

    8.     Produces and monitors reports for marketing and sales purposes, by analysing information and trends.

    People Perspective

    1. Manages performance of direct reports ensuring agreement of annual goals, measuring performance against agreed goals and dealing with non-performance accordingly.

     2. Talent management of direct reports, including career developments and paths for all staff and succession planning for key positions.

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED

    •      B.Tech/ B.Sc degree in Analytical Chemistry (NQF 7).

    PREFERRED QUALIFICATION

    •       Post-graduate degree in Analytical Chemistry (NQF 8).

    MINIMUM EXPERIENCE AND KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED

    • 7 years’ experience within a Laboratory Manager role
    • Experience working with ICP-MS and XRF techniques is essential.
    • Background in manganese analysis is preferential.
    • Experience in managing ISO 17025 requirements.

    ETD Practitioner – Plant - Kathu

    PURPOSE OF THE JOB

    • Manages the relationship with the outsourced technical training service provider. Monitors the outsourced training content and manages the training schedule to ensure alignment with operational requirements. Manages and facilitates the on- boarding programme.
    • To plan, develop and deliver training interventions on Engineering discipline.
