    Actuarial and Insurance Solutions (EDT Team): Actuarial Modelling Centre Professionals (AMC)

    Job Description

    Main Purpose of Job

    The Extended Delivery Team (EDT) provides consulting support to the Deloitte UK Actuarial Insurance and Banking (A&IB) practice. The Deloitte UK (A&IB) practice has both breadth and technical depth and provides services to leading UK and global insurers. You can expect to be involved in several key services, ranging from stochastic and deterministic asset and liability modelling covering Solvency II, IFRS17, model rationalisation and finance transformations. We work with a variety of software including FIS Prophet, RiskAgility Financial Modeller and Algorithmics AFM.

    As a member of the Actuarial Modelling Centre (AMC) Team, you will:

    • Work in diverse global teams and be involved in a wide variety of projects.
    • Gain exposure to a variety of UK, international and multi-national clients.
    • Actively contribute to a wide range of actuarial modelling projects.
    • Build models in a wide range of programming languages.
    • Implement global-leading best-practice modelling techniques and processes.
    • Foster relationships with global Deloitte Member Firms and clients.
    • Contribute to practice management and developing the AMC.

    Qualifications

    Qualifications & Experience

    To qualify for the role, you must have:

    • An applicable actuarial degree (e.g. BSc Actuarial Science, BSc (Hons) Actuarial Science, BBSc Actuarial Science).
    • At least 2 years of work experience, preferably in a valuations or modelling role in Life Insurance.
    • A keen interest in pursuing a career in actuarial modelling.
    • Experience in building models in FIS Prophet (experience in other modelling environments and a strong technical computer programming background will also be an advantage).
    • A strong academic track record, with good progress in actuarial exams.
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
    • Good interpersonal and (written and verbal) communication skills.
    • An ability to work well in a team.
    • Knowledge of the life insurance industry (SAM, Solvency II and IFRS17 knowledge will be an advantage).

    Senior Consultant Strategy (Life Science & Healthcare)

    Job Description

    Roles and responsibilities

    Identifying and interpreting C-level client problems, focusing on answering key questions and adding value to the problems at hand. These may be more general consulting questions, organisation design, business strategy, to more Life Science and Health Care specific questions; specific market entry strategy for medical products. Understanding and engaging with medical supply chain issues. Data analysis and interpretation of Life Science and Health Care data. As a senior consultant, part of the role will be managing your own workstreams. Assistant senior leadership with solving the overall questions.  Managing and leading small teams and effective analysis of data. It is critical to identify key issues and how the relate to the overall question and how it fits in with the client and market. We look to create and test hypotheses, develop and communicate recommendations to senior stakeholders.

    Main Purpose of the role

    The main purpose of this role is to consult within the Assurance and Analytics space and deliver service to / at client premises on delegated engagements and projects.  This role has an Audit focus but also requires the ability to apply such skills to non-audit clients.

    Qualifications

    Qualifications & Experience required

    • CA (SA)
    • Experience using the suite of Microsoft Office software (specifically Excel, Word and PowerPoint)
    • Experience using relevant analytics platforms would be an advantage (SAS, SQL, Python, Power BI)

    SharePoint Developer - Internal Client Services - ATS

    Job Description

    Main Purpose of Job
    To work fairly independently within area of expertise, giving guidance to staff in the business on issues relating to Software Development and Software Design, with minimal support from seniors. 

    Differentiators for this specific role

    • Produces code that is of high quality and is in line with industry software development standards.
    • Performing code review for all code that is checked into source control (TFS) before it is deployed to QA and production environment.
    • Provides guidance and technical leadership on the technologies to be used.
    • Prioritizing and resolving bugs on the production environment in a timely manner.
    • Ensures that security and Microsoft patches are up-to-date.
    • Ensures that the environment is stable with an availability of 98%. 
    • Translating of problem statements, business requirement and business processes into a solution on the applicable technological platform

    • Minimum 3 years’ experience as a SharePoint Developer with 5 years of solid experience with C#, ASP.NET, HTML, CSS, XML, .Net 3.5-4.5, JavaScript, jQuery and MVC 
    • 3+ years within Microsoft SharePoint
