    Publisher Analytics - Auckland Park

    PURPOSE

    • Reporting to management on Web & App performance to enhance and ensure conversion optimisation through the use of data analytics.  Effective and efficient analysing web and app performance.

    DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

    BUSINESS OPERATIONAL EFFICIENCY

    • Recommend development change of Web and App design following review of web and app data analytics
    • Assist Website and App design in line with design standards and corporate identity
    • Interact with the client to incorporate design ideas and best practices through use of data analytics
    • Ensure that web and App designs are responsive and accessible
    • Accurate reporting to management regarding progress of performance of web and app targets through web and app analytics
    • Publish and review SABC Apps Website/s Analytics
    • Appropriate Web and App analytics troubleshooting

    • Experience working in an Agile delivery environment (Scrum) is a must

    Artisan Electrical: Western Cape

    MAIN PURPOSE OF THE POSITION: 

    • To carrying out the maintenance of electrical machinery and plant, in order to ensure the maximum effectiveness of systems.

    DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:    
    MAINTENANCE AND REPAIRS

    • Carry out the maintenance of electrical machinery and equipment in the area appointed in order to achieve maximum effectiveness and efficiency of systems.
    • Carry out daily inspections of all areas under his/her responsibility in connection with electrical machinery and equipment.
    • Maintenance of electricity distribution infrastructure and the associated control plant at SABC (MV and LV switchgears, MV and LV cable networks,     
    •      Standby Generators Sets, Uninterruptible Power Supplies, building lights, Distribution Boards, Battery Tripping Units, Protection Relays and Electricity Metering.             
    • Provide Line Manager with the descriptions and specifications for equipment and materials required for maintenance or repair on various items.
    • Carrying out minor changes such as modifications to various systems as instructed
    • Assist in maintaining assets data base by providing equipment information and functional locations.
    • Perform fault finding and root cause analysis on electrical machinery.
    • Capturing maintenance feedback on the maintenance management system against the allocated work order or maintenance request.
    • Read and understand electrical drawings.
    • Safely lifting of heavy equipment and tools.
    • Carry out changes and installations to various systems as instructed.
    • Installation, maintenance and upkeeping of submersible pumps.
    • Installation and maintenance of sewerage systems and sewerage pumps
    • Provide inputs and perform work on electrical projects as and when required.
    • Collaborate with contractors and other construction professionals.

    • Be prepared to be on standby and work overtime when required.
    • Respond to all queries in the absence of the supervisor.
    • Carry out energy isolation procedure and issue work permit to staff and contractors.

    • Extensive knowledge of electrical plant and equipment (MV and LV switchgears, MV and LV reticulation, transformers, generators, uninterruptible power supplies, motors and starters, variable speed drive, protection relays, battery tripping units, metering and BMS)

    Supervisor: Security Shift KZN

    Main purpose of the position:

    • To plan, manage and co-ordinate physical security and ensuring optimal safety and protection of the SABC assets and people.  To ensure NKP compliance.

    DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Effective planning and control of the physical security
    • Effective planning to minimise security risks and efficient safeguarding of assets.
    • Manage and monitor the physical security
    • Ensure NKP Compliance by outsourced security service provider
    • Ensure that the standard of the contractor complies with the standard and policies set by the SABC.
    • Manage the fixed asset system of Protection services to ensure that the asset register is timeously updated
    • Monitoring of the access control system and providing information thereof, when necessary and monitoring equipment upkeep.

    • Effective interaction with all the relevant NKP role-players
    • Ensure that the access control system is functional and providing reports when necessary

    • Proper representation of the Provincial 2x NKP installations in Security Officer’s Leadership Forums (SOLF)

    Business Manager: Channel Africa - Auckland Park

    Main Purpose of the position

    To provide strategic direction, guidance and management of the station in a cost-effective and efficient manner, in compliance with the license conditions and South African Broadcasting Corporation PBS mandate to maximise audience and revenue opportunities.

    Key Accountabilities:

    • Develop and implement station strategy in line with the country’s foreign policy as well as the overarching SABC strategy and business objectives.
    • Guide the development and implementation of programming and marketing plans aligned to audience needs and mandate obligations.
    •  Develop and evaluate business plans in line with brand requirements and financial sustainability.
    • Develop plans to reach new markets and increase Channel Africa’s penetration in the continent.
    • Communicate station strategy to all staff and supporting departments to ensure alignment.
    • Oversee and monitor marketing of the station in Africa to ensure creation of opportunities for collaboration to achieve financial sustainability, audience growth and brand awareness.
    •  Identify and exploit alternative revenue streams with internal and external stakeholders.
    •  Monitor and oversee the delivery of high quality programme content that can be sold or licence to other broadcasters.
    •  Facilitate and support creative processes by both marketing and programming teams.
    •  Facilitate the commissioning of research and ensure optimal utilisation of research findings in critical decision making.
    •  Monitor and ensure that content developed for the station is in line with the mandate and is exploitable beyond initial broadcast.
    •  Facilitate talent scouting initiatives, in South Africa and the continent, and implement development plans for acquired talent.
    •  Compile and manage the utilisation of station budget.
    •  Monitor and manage station financial performance in line with the mandate and SABC’s sustainability goals.
    •  Manage the contracting and payment of independent contractor as well as other service providers.
    • Ensure compliance with corporate governance and adhere to SABC policies and procedures, as well as international laws.
    • Develop and implement the Standard Operating Procedures as well as other necessary controls to ensure accountability and delivery of high quality services.
    •  Address audit findings including consequence management, and close all gaps in compliance.
    •  Oversee the management of risks to protect organisational integrity, create value, prevent financial losses and ensure compliance with applicable policies and legislations
    • Maintain close relations with Sales and Adventure in order to adequately define stations’ revenue requirements and close any gaps.
    •  Initiate trade marketing activities in relevant African markets in consultation with Sales and Corporate Affairs.
    •  Provide continuous feedback to senior management and station team regarding operational status and strategy performance.
    •  Closely manage external and internal stakeholders in order to ensure optimal delivery on PBS mandate as well as exploitation of revenue opportunities.
    • Contract and evaluate staff performance in accordance with organizational Performance Management System and policy
    •  Ensure adequate staffing for fair workload distribution and effective leadership (including leave Management).
    •  Effective briefing of and communication with departmental staff and senior managemnt.
    •  Complete personal Development Plans (PDP) for all staff members
    •  Provide a conducive work environment that supports creativity and personal growth.
    •  Coach, mentor and guide junior employees.
    •  Provide leadership on the retention and attraction of staff, and champion succession planning.

    Requirements:

    • Bachelor’s Degree in International Relations/Journalism//Media Studies or equivalent qualification. NQF 7
    • 6 years’ experience in a broadcasting environment of which 3 years should be in Radio Station management level.
    • Understanding of ICASA regulations, South Africa’s Constitution, all broadcasting and other relevant legislation, BCCSA Code of Conduct, SABC editorial policies, and other quality assurance tools.
    •  Advanced knowledge and understanding of African politics and socio-economic issues.
    •  Radio production processes and systems.
    •  Excellent understanding of the international media space.
    •  Experience in planning, budgeting for and executing special broadcasts and projects.
    •  Strategic thinking and ability to improvise and innovate.
