    Senior Student Advisor (Undergraduate) - Midrand

    Duties and Responsibilities:

    Presentation Target

    • Deliver engaging presentations at targeted schools, showcasing the benefits of our institution.                             
    • The ability to deliver a great presentation to potential students is crucial.

    Distribute marketing materials and interact with students to generate interest and enquiries.       

    • Represent our brand at career expos and other stakeholder events.        
    • Achieve monthly presentation targets as per school priorities.
    • Database Collection
    • Meet monthly targets for collecting school databases to expand our reach.

    Interview Target

    • Make proactive calls to prospective students, scheduling interviews to meet daily and weekly targets.
    • Follow up on online applications, ensuring proof of payments and scheduling appointments.
    • Provide prompt responses to online and telephonic enquiries.
    • Conduct interviews following an established script, building rapport with students and parents.
    • Achieve individual targets for weekly, monthly and annual interviews.

    Application Target

    • Assist students with the online application process during interviews, securing applications on the spot.
    • Follow up with unpaid online applications and ensuring payment is completed.
    • Conduct regular calling campaigns to convert interviews into applications.
    • Drive application acceptance and pre-registration fee payment.
    • Achieve individual targets for weekly, monthly and annual applications.

    Registration Target

    • Meet individual targets for new student registrations.      

    Administration and Reporting

    • Maintain accurate daily reports, including call reports and interview booking trackers and the CRM system.
    • Ensure interview forms are completed correctly and applications have valid supporting documentation.
    • Update relevant systems and reports as required by the Head: Student Recruitment.

    Competencies Required:

    • Strong interpersonal and communication skills to effectively engage with students, parents and stakeholders.
    • The ability to deliver a compelling presentation at schools is crucial.

    Minimum Qualification Requirements:

    Head Of Humanities - Durban North

    Duties and Responsibilities:

    Academic Leadership, Management & Campus Support

    • Overall leadership and management of the School on campus.
    • Manage the interface with the Head of School.
    • Plan resource allocation for the academic operations of all programmes within the School on campus.
    • Review academic results of all students within the School on campus and implement an appropriate teaching and learning strategy for "At risk" students and "At risk" modules.
    • Manage academic counselling and support to students within the school on campus.
    • Report on the academic performance of the School on the campus to Head: Academic, Campus Head and Head of School, and any other relevant national staff member.
    • Drive the implementation of relevant teaching and learning initiatives within the School on campus.
    • Support the development of new programmes for accreditation.
    • Support development of academic material and assessments on programmes within the School by acting as developer, module leader, moderator or head of programme for the Central Academic Team (CAT).
    • Performance management and development of permanent academic staff within the School on campus.
    • Manage lecturer development in consultation with the Teaching and Learning specialist.
    • Ensure representation of the school on the Programme Co-ordination Committee (PCC) calls.
    • Discipline Module Support role.
    • Support the Teaching & Learning Specialist in the management of the peer review process and the internal moderation model.
    • Provide specialist support to the campus senior management team for all programmes within the School.
    • Provide specialist support to the campus operations team responsible for the operation of all programmes within the School on campus.
    • Lead the recruitment, selection, and appointment of the academic team of the School within the campus.
    • Provide support to the campus marketing team with specialised knowledge of the programmes with the School.
    • Manage the Development Task.
    • Manage plagiarism offences and disciplinary procedures.
    • Manage and oversee the school's role in National/campus initiatives, such as Summer School, Saturday School, Speed Week, RESTART, 6 Week Student Engagement Programme, Numeracy Tutorial Sessions, Elevate.
    • Involvement in, and management of, academic support and administrative duties during the campus registration period.
    • Supervision of students on Honours programmes (where applicable).
    • Manage the student tracking process.
    • Conduct Student consultations.

    Industry, Professional Management & Building Partnerships

    • Develop and maintain relationships with professional industry to support placement of students, bursaries and sponsorships and access to professional expertise.
    • Facilitation of and involvement in professional and scholarly activities e.g. Conference Papers and Higher Degree Studies.
    • Organise campus events for the School to promote professional industry relationships.
    • Represent The Independent Institute of Education (The IIE) and The IIE's MSA at professional institutions, on external partner faculty boards and other relevant committees.

    Lecturing

    • Lecture up to 100 hours OR 2 modules per semester (including supervision). If engaged in approved formal research activity then you will be required to lecture 1 module per semester.

    Research & Scholarship

    • The incumbent is required to promote a culture of scholarship within their practice, discipline and campus/team and is also required to contribute towards The IIE’s MSA achieving its annual research output targets.

    Minimum Qualification Requirements:

    • Masters or equivalent in relevant School (NQF Level 9) in Social Sciences.

    Minimum Experience Requirements:

    • Minimum of 5 years Teaching and Learning experience (preferably in teaching environment).

    Deputy Head: Academic Operations (Cape Town)

    Duties and Responsibilities:

    Quality Assurance

    • Supports the implementation, management and compliance monitoring of academic policies.
    • Actively involved in ensuring compliance within all areas of Academic Operations.
    • Implements the Assessment Strategy and Policy and all related procedures which are aimed at ensuring compliance.
    • In the absence of the Head: Academic Operations, the Deputy Head: Academic Operations approves all departmental documentation and communication to all stakeholders prior to dissemination.
    • Maintains and develops relationships with all stakeholders including students, parents, lecturers and other staff.

    Operational Programme Management

    • Ensures the delivery of timetables from the Capacity Planning and Timetabling Centre are time efficient and contribute to the overall academic delivery of the programme.
    • Supervises the output of the Results Centre regarding accuracy of Cumulative Assessment (CASS) release, results capturing, moderation and results release.
    • Oversees the campus readiness regarding programme starts, student groups and timetables received.
    • Ad hoc assistance and operational support on registrations, cancellations, de-registrations and transfers.
    • Signs off the assessment schedule received from the National Operations team taking into account campus capacity to accommodate the central assessment schedule on campus.

    Student Support

    • Supports the timeous response and resolution of all internal queries managed by the Customer Relations Centre, or other Centre of Excellence.
    • In the absence of the Head: Academic Operations, represents the campus on the VC Voice committee.
    • Ensures system set up for the submission of assessments under non-exam conditions being submitted through the anti plagiarism software.

    Independent Contractor (Lecturer & Invigilator) Operational Support

    • Ensures that the operational requirements of Independent Contractors are met timeously.
    • Holds the role of 2nd line approver for all invigilator claims/timesheets.
    • Manages the Lecturer allocation timelines to ensure the timetable timelines are met in accordance with programme start dates.

    Departmental Management

    • Supervises the Centres of Excellence within Academic Operations and ensures compliance in all functions that are completed by each Centre of Excellence.
    • Reports to the Head: Academic Operations on the functioning and performance of each Centre of Excellence and identifies critical areas of improvement.
    • Recruits staff for the Centres of Excellence within the scope of supervision.
    • Sources, screens, appoints, trains, and manages (including claim management) the campus invigilators.
    • Provides training and onboarding for new and existing staff for the Centres of Excellence within the scope of supervision.
    • Supports the Head: Academic Operations with any internal or external audit process up to and including submission of improvement plans.
    • Ensures all policy updates are communicated to the Customer Relations Centre and that students are informed accordingly.
    • Manages the For Action Now (FAN) report response.
    • Ensures that verification takes account of any capping constraints and that students who are sitting the assessment as a supplementary or special exam have been identified.
    • Manages all delays, deadlines and processes for the Centres of Excellence within the scope of supervision with respective stakeholders such as The Independent Institute of Education (The IIE), Central Academic Team (CAT) and Lecturers.
    • Supports the Head: Academic Operations in ensuring compliance to The Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA) legislation relevant to the Academic Operations department.
    • Supports the Head: Academic Operations with running focus group sessions with the Centres of Excellence where challenges and improvements on existing processes are discussed.

    Minimum Qualification requirements:

    • Minimum of Advanced Diploma or Bachelors Degree (NQF Level 7).
    • Postgraduate qualification advantageous.

    Minimum Work Experience requirements:

    • Minimum of 2 years operational management/ project management, 2 years supervisory, 3 years administrative and 3 years customer service experience.
