    HR Officer - Fixed Term Contract

    • An exciting opportunity exists for an HR Officer for our Field Marketing regional office in Inland West, Isando on a Fixed Term Contract (FTC) basis. Individual must be self-managed and organized in order to assist and support Line Management within Field Marketing Inland West region through effective and efficient HR Administration and services. This includes coordinating HR activities related to the region's payroll, HR reporting, employee administration in an effort to ensure Field Marketing is well-positioned to offer comprehensive guidance and advice with regards to HR.     National Sales Manager Food Service and Wholesale

    • An exciting opportunity exists for a National Sales Manager Food Service and Wholesale at I&J. As the successful incumbent you will lead, manage, and grow the Food Service and Wholesale channel across South Africa and selected African markets. The role is accountable for developing and executing strategic sales plans, managing a team of Key Account Managers, and ensuring customer partnerships, stock and pricing optimisation, and compliance across domestic and export markets. The position ensures profitable growth, long-term sustainability, and operational excellence in line with I&J’s commercial objectives.

    Key Areas of Impact:
    Strategic Channel Leadership

    • Develop and implement the National Food Service & Wholesale strategy aligned to I&J’s domestic sales objectives.
    • Lead and manage Key Account Managers (KAMs) across customer groups, ensuring clear targets and strategic alignment.
    • Drive customer segmentation, strategic planning, and execution to expand channel presence and share.
    • Provide leadership in negotiations of trading terms and strategic partnerships with major wholesalers and food service groups

    Sales and Profitability Delivery

    • Own the channel Profit and Loss (P&L), ensuring achievement of revenue, volume, margin, and profitability targets.
    • Monitor and manage pricing, deals, and Key Value Items (KVI) lines to maximise profitability.
    • Ensure accurate stock allocation, forecasting, and pipeline management, working with cross-functional teams to meet demand and minimise risk.
    • Oversee trade debtor performance, ensuring timely collections and adherence to credit policies. Coordinate sales demand forecasts for production planning to ensure optimal stock availability across customers and various regional depots.

    Customer and Category Development

    • Build strong customer relationships across wholesalers, food service groups and export partners.
    • Lead category growth initiatives, leveraging customer insights to shape assortment, pack formats, and pricing strategies.
    • Support and guide KAM’s in customer visits, joint business planning and promotional execution.
    • Ensure long-term planning and short-term action plans are effectively delivered against financial and strategic goals.

    Supply Chain, Exports and Execution Excellence

    • Collaborate with supply chain teams to ensure service excellence, OTIF delivery and efficient DC-to-DC flows.
    • Oversee export operations, including compliance with documentation - health certificates, seals, customs requirements, cross-border logistics, and minimum order volumes.
    • Anticipate and mitigate risks in export planning, ensuring customer service and monthly sales objectives are achieved.
    • Streamline processes with internal departments to improve efficiency and responsiveness.

    Leadership and Development

    • Recruit, coach, train, and develop the Key Account Managers and support, driving high performance and accountability.
    • Conduct regular performance reviews, set KPIs, and provide ongoing feedback.
    • Foster a collaborative team culture, ensuring alignment between individual objectives and business goals.
    • Build succession capability and develop future leadership within the Food Service sales team.

    National Key Account Manager

    • An exciting opportunity exists for a National Key Accounts Manager at I&J. As the successful incumbent you will lead the strategic and commercial management of the Shoprite Checkers national account, ensuring sustainable growth, profitability, and category leadership for I&J’s portfolio. The role is accountable for building long-term partnerships, driving joint business planning, and delivering excellence in pricing, promotions, innovation, and supply chain execution within the perishables and frozen food categories.

    Strategic Account Leadership

    • Develop and implement the Shoprite Checkers national account strategy, aligned with I&J’s business objectives and growth ambitions.
    • Lead the Joint Business Planning (JBP) process with Shoprite category and buying teams, ensuring alignment on volume, value, and category objectives.
    • Establish a structured customer engagement rhythm - operational, category, and top-to-top meetings with clear agendas, scorecards, and follow-up actions.
    • Proactively manage long-term customer relationships, building trust at all levels to secure sustainable competitive advantage.

    Sales and Profitability Delivery

    • Own and manage the account Profit and Loss (P&L), ensuring achievement of sales value, volume, gross margin, and profitability targets.
    • Negotiate annual trading terms, price increases, and promotional investments, balancing customer competitiveness with business returns.
    • Manage discounts, rebates, and trade spend to ensure maximum return on investment (ROI)
    • Drive budget adherence and forecasting accuracy to meet AVI financial standards.
    • Develop and capture rolling sales forecasts based on bottom-up demand predictions for the short-term forecast horizon - 1 to 6 months.
    • Manage the sales delivery against the sales forecast and identify potential shortfalls against the financial sales budget.
    • Develop demand generation - trade marketing & sales plans to close the gap against financial sales budget shortfalls.

    Category and Customer Development

    • Partner with Shoprite to grow frozen fish and protein categories, shaping assortment, shelf strategy, and pack architecture.
    • Influence listing decisions and shelf-space allocations, ensuring compliance with Must-Stock-List (MSL) and expansion of numeric and weighted distribution.
    • Collaborate with I&J Marketing and Category teams to deliver innovation launches, securing on-time listings and impactful activations.
    • Support category performance reviews and make data-driven recommendations to enhance category growth and shopper relevance.

    Supply Chain and Execution Excellence

    • Provide accurate demand planning inputs to improve forecast accuracy and support factory production planning.
    • Ensure Distribution Centre (DC-to-DC) supply efficiency with high case-fill rates, minimal shorts, and strong order adherence.
    • Drive on-shelf availability (OSA) and service metrics across all Shoprite banners, including e-commerce platforms for example Sixty60.
    • Oversee the execution of promotional campaigns, ensuring compliance with agreed plans and flawless in-store and digital execution.

    Market and Customer Insights and Cross-Functional Collaboration

    • Leverage retailer data syndicated data - Circana, and internal systems to identify risks, opportunities, and trends.
    • Prepare regular performance reviews, customer scorecards, risk and opportunity assessments for leadership and cross-functional teams.
    • Lead cross-functional collaboration with Marketing, Finance, Supply Chain, and Quality to align customer requirements with internal capabilities.
    • Act as the internal advocate for Shoprite, ensuring that customer needs and market dynamics are understood and acted upon across the business

    What It Takes to Succeed:

    Experience that set you up for success:                       

    • Minimum 5 years’ FMCG experience, with at least 3 years managing key accounts at a national level
    • Demonstrated success in managing trading terms, price negotiations, and promotional calendars.
    • Exposure to forecasting, demand planning, and supply chain coordination, particularly in high-volume retail environments.

    Qualifications & Certifications that will contribute to your success:

    • Grade 12 with good passes in Mathematics, English and one Social Science and / or Science

    Contact Center Agent

    • We’re looking for a passionate Contact Center Agent to join our AVI Field Marketing Shared Services Division in Isando on a Fixed Term Contract (FTC) basis. In this role, you be responsible for answering incoming calls from customers to take orders, enquiries and questions, handle complaints, troubleshoot problems and provide information.                 

    Reporting Structure:

    Reports to: Contact Center Team Leader
    Key Areas of Impact:

    • Customer and sales management

    • Ensure any discrepancies are followed up with rep or customer prior to order capture
    • Ensure minimum order value and quantity is adhered to

    • Forward credit held orders listing to Accounts Receivable department prior to the delivery run and advise buyer when an account is on hold
