    People Data and Analytics Consultant

    • This role partners with Central Human Capital CoE’s, Segments as well as other stakeholders to enable faster, appropriately informed and more effective decision making using relevant data, across the OML group. The role will partner with the OML Data and Digital and IT teams to enhance the employee value proposition through digital employee journeys and experiences. 
    • The key output from this role will be the implementation of the OML People Analytics strategy. This will be done by translating the business questions into analytics requirements and translating the results of the advanced statistical analysis into actionable insights for the business.
    • The incumbent is individually accountable for achieving results over periods of up to a year as well as will lead a small team.  

    Role Description

    • Solves business problems by the on-going interpretation of data and working with the various Segments and CoE’s to understand the current pain points.
    • Leads the building of data and analytical models that drive meaningful insights
    • Leads people and data analytic projects to solve enterprise wide problems
    • Converts people data insights into actionable insights for different business contexts
    • Able to craft stories using people insights, and communicates findings and recommendations on critical initiatives and influences leaders to take on those actions
    • Identifies continuous improvement projects through root cause problem solving and manages the analysis, design and implementation of projects through multi-functional teams, including stakeholder and project management.
    • Pilots, assesses, adjusts and ensures implementation of solutions
    • Assists in building a people data warehouse
    • Collaborates effectively with others to achieve results
    • Responsible for building strong working relationships with internal and external clients  

    Skills, Qualifications and Experience required

    • Statistical, behavioural science or analytics related degree .
    • 5+ years’ experience in the analytics space, with at least 3 years’ experience in a consultative role
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; can effectively convey complex concepts to all stakeholders; able to influence business stakeholders and drive change
    • Able to work independently and drive projects with cross-functional contributors from initiation to conclusion with little supervision, while leading a small team.
    • Able to collaborate with colleagues from multiple functions; able to establish trusting relationships with business partners and senior business leaders
    • Excellent quantitative skills, including data manipulation, statistical analysis, and visualization.
    • Experience with Statistical packages such as SAS or related modelling software.
    • Strong business acumen, including understanding of business and financial concepts in the insurance industry
    • Possesses natural curiosity and thinks outside the box
    • Strong interpersonal and relationship building skills.
    • Highly adaptable and be able to manage change and ambiguity with ease.
    • Focus on quality and risk.
    • Excellent problem solving ability.
    • Preferred abilities and skills:
    • Experience working with people related data
    • Familiarity with analysis applications such as Python, R, or similar
    • Familiarity with visualization applications such as Qlik, Tableau,
    • Experience with extracting data from HR information systems, such as Workday or similar cloud systems.

    People Data and Analytics Practitioner

    The role analyses people data using various statistical or analytical techniques. Builds statistical models, develops data dashboards, reports and tracks metrics. The incumbent is individually accountable for achieving results over periods of up to 3 months. Key performance areas will include amongst others the following:

    • Gathers people data from workday and multiple other sources including the people data warehouse
    • Builds statistical models, develops dashboards, reports and trackers using people data using different data tools
    • Performs advanced statistical analysis on people data. Interprets results and translates into actionable business insights
    • Builds data visualisations based on large sets of people data that answer key business questions
    • Writes reports on the outcomes of people data analysis, identifying actionable insights to assist in solving the problem being analysed
    • Assists in building a people data warehouse
    • Works on projects in a people data analysis role
    • Collaborates effectively with others to achieve results
    • Responsible for building strong working relationships with internal clients

    Qualifications and Experience required

    • Statistical, behavioural science or analytics related degree/.
    • 2 years of experience using a quantitative/qualitative approach to answer questions/create solutions, manipulating data, combining data to generate insights, creating reporting solutions.
    • Experience in a client-facing role, presenting to audiences, using data to influence HR strategies.
    • Knowledge of SQL, Tableau, R and Python will be an advantage
    • Strong interpersonal and relationship building skills.
    • Highly adaptable and be able to manage change and ambiguity with ease.
    • Focus on quality and risk.
    • Excellent problem solving ability
