    Automation Test Analyst

    Design automation testing plans and develop automation test scripts for multiple technical products / services (pre, during & post deployment) in both ‘Run & Change’ contexts and align to chosen application testing frameworks & guidelines. Testing may apply to all or a combination of the following front-end, back-end, integration, performance, scalability and regression testing of solutions. This entails full responsibility for ensuring products are protected through quantifiable test coverage & metrics.

    Job Description
    The Midas team (Core Banking Multi Currency Application) within the Chief Technology Office is looking for a Specialist Automation Engineer to setup an automation testing environment, using best practices and framework.
    The team is currently busy with a Rewrite Project which involves separating the application from the Vendor and building the application in-house.
    The technology used will be Modernised as part of ABSA’s Cloud based strategy.

    Accountability:
    QA Engineering

    • Proactively contribute & participate in the full solution development lifecycle as a member of a squad / multiple squads as a QA automation specialist engineer
    • Actively participate in daily Scrum and project planning meetings.
    • Participate and analyze test automation requirements during the requirements analysis phase of technical product & service development, maintenance & optimization (across tribes & squads) – using design specifications and technical documentation (e.g. Business Briefs, User Stories, Architecture & Integration documentation)
    • Prepare QA & Automation testing documentation (planning, design, execution and sustainability)
    • Develop automation test plans
    • Develop and execute automated test scripts using various technologies (automated scripts, test harnesses, SQL scripts etc.)
    • Perform various types of automation testing (regression, integration, black box, scalability)
    • Evaluate automated test cases and analyse & report results
    • Facilitate test plan / case reviews within squads
    • Work with product engineers to evaluate software / solution quality & provide recommendations for improvement / enhancement
    • Contribute to the design and selection of testing frameworks for business applications
    • Deliver all automation & technical testing deliverables on time (always)
    • Provide the required project / scrum related information / feedback on deliverables (e.g. progress, tracking, quality etc.)
    • Conduct performance monitoring on applications / components of applications for which you’ve designed and executed test scripts / plans
    • Produce quality and testing outcome metrics and reports

    DevOps

    • Follow engineering best practices and continuously improve on engineering knowledge to successfully shift our QA capability forward
    • Leverage coding language understanding & expertise to deploy testing requirements for specific products / services
    • Understand the full technical solution that is being tested – show interest and capability to run the technical solution & the ability to test the viability of the code being developed
    • Shift from testing features to supporting & being accountable for full product delivery

    Education And Experience Required

    • B-Degree or equivalent technical qualification
    • Min 5 years automation testing experience
    • Prior programming work experience
    • Experience with performance engineering and load testing is a huge plus
    • Experience & expertise (Basic) in coding languages such as Java, C# and some experience- in software engineering / development
    • Well versed in web services paradigms such as REST and protocols such as HTTP
    • Experience working on web applications and/or web-based technologies
    • Proficient in multiple forms of test approaches for application testing including functional, cross-browser compatibility, mobile, web service, and integration testing etc
    • Proficient in UNIX/Linux environments and shell scripting
    • Proficient in basic SQL operations such as joins and views
    • Experience with SOAP, REST, RPC or other client-server API testing
    • Experience in TFS, JIRA, and Confluence
    • Experience in Git or other source code management systems
    • JavaScript experience
    • Comfortable in AGILE development environments and cross-functional team structures
    • Experience with end-to-end SDLC, testing methodologies and test phases, including unit, assembly, system, integration, regression testing
    • Integration layer testing methods
    • UI testing (i.e. Soap UI)
    • Selenium
    • MQ
    • Angular experience (Advantage)

    Job Description
    Financial management and Business Partnering

    • Produce of regular, high quality, standardised financial and non-financial reporting and analytics to Business and Finance.
    • Ensure appropriate, quality and timeous delivery of accurate financial and non-financial management information and valid and insightful comments.
    • Build trust in the finance function through the creation of a single source of financial information which is corroborated by related management information sources and alignment to the agreed accounting principles and methodologies
    • Take a commercial view on business and provide insights into management reports.
    • Generate finance narratives and insights driving business that will assist in building new proposition.
    • Align to processes around month-end and year-end across the GCF finance community based on the requirements from Group.
    • Execute strategic objectives as articulated by the Chief Financial Officer (CFO).
    • First line of operational support to internal and external auditors within scope of work; and all queries addressed effectively and efficiently.
    • Work with Business Unit Commercial Manager to ensure appropriate, accurate and timeous delivery of financial information from Outsource partners

    Business Planning

    • Align to processes around planning cycles across the GCF finance community and Business Unit based on the requirements from Group. Prepare for all cycles in advance and ensure adequate engagement with the relevant finance and Business Unit teams.
    • Ensure Business Unit commitment and thorough input is obtained for these activities and support them with translating strategy into financial objectives on request
    • Partner with the departments and the Business Unit line managers to complete sound financial plans within the agreed timeframes ensuring that the plans align to the Company’s and Business Unit strategy
    • Analysing existing budgets against actual spend and note any key risk and opportunities is identified and communicated to the Business Unit and ensure this is accounted for into the annual financial plans

    Support to business and Financial leadership

    • Drive change proactively aimed at continuous improvement in all areas of the reporting and business. Embrace digital solutions
    • Provide financial advice and guidance to line managers and Finance Business Partners on new initiatives, current budget management practices and trends in expenditure in their areas of accountability.
    • Explain targets and take accountability for the monitoring and achievement of own objectives in terms of financial risk, financial planning and governance.
    • Address any process failures specific to the department under management.
    • Drive continuous process efficiency, financial rigor and controls.
    • Serve as a subject matter expert on accounting processes, analysis and reporting for end-to-end Financial Management in business area.
    • Develop and sustain knowledge and experience on the end to end processes, including relevant systems within scope of work.
    • Ensure that the CFO is appraised of key financial issues that need to be raised with executive leadership to enable integrity and timely management the BU.

    Governance

    • Ensure that processes, control requirements and risk management frameworks that have been designed for the area are understood and that these are adhered to on a monthly basis.
    • Implement required governance forums to support improved financial management practices within own area of responsibility. (e.g. monthly finance reporting, monthly finance meetings.)

    Education And Experience Required

    Commodity Specialist - Networks, Telecoms and Platforms

    Create strategies to get products from regional and global markets to achieve cost-effectiveness and a solid supplier base for the company. Collaborate with the Category manager on procurement issues and exchanging development updates. Manage the procurement of Networks, Telecommunications (Telco) and Platforms commodities and enhance the benefits from the projects by following the agreed-upon specifications. Resolve issues related to commodities by developing better plans for negotiation and cost reduction.

    Roles and Responsibilities:

    • Develop and execute sourcing strategies for strategic and tactical Networks, Telco and Platform commodities and non-category managed, products and as per sourcing strategy, framework, and procurement policy.
    • Perform analysis of business requirements such as supply markets, supply chains, demand patterns and commodity strategies.
    • Negotiate optimum commercial agreements for short (one year) and medium term (three year) contracts.
    • Draft and conclude supply agreements and service level agreements for strategic and tactical Networks, Telco and Platform commodities and non-category managed goods and services.
    • Consult with the Legal department to draft agreement according to the legal standards and guidelines.
    • Ensure that all materials and services are sourced and procured according to specification; in accordance with the procurement policy and/or as detailed in the sourcing strategy.
    • Highlight potential opportunities for items to be placed on contract.
    • Implement and/or follow effective expediting procedure and monitor non-compliance.
    • Manage and report all deviations in accordance with the procurement policy and/or as detailed in the sourcing strategy.
    • Maintain an effective supplier database.
    • Develop existing and identify new suppliers to effectively reduce the total cost of ownership associated with the procurement of products and services in Networks, Telecommunications and Platforms.
    • Collaborate with the Supplier Relationship Management to monitor and track supplier performance against service level agreements including quality control where required.
    • Identification and implementation of inventory and working capital reduction initiatives.
    • Manage and close-off identified audits timeously as required.
    • Implement and support where required, stock management, sale of redundant stock and redundant spares.
    • Analysis and interpretation of procurement data and transactions for budgeting process and variance reporting.
    • Assist internal customers to identify opportunities and engagement for ESD suppliers.
    • Perform benchmarking on price, cost, and supply chain effectiveness.
    • Execute cost savings plans and track against targets.
    • Support internal customers in developing business cases when required.
    • Develop and maintaining internal customer service relationships.
    • Participate in and/or lead regional or global multi-functional sourcing teams.
    • Load and maintain contract pricing on the Procurement systems.
    • Promote and help achieve Group Procurement BBBEE preferential procurement and enterprise development objectives and targets.
    • Liaise with internal and external auditors through Group Risk- Procurement department
    • Compile monthly, quarterly, and annual operational reports on performance
