    Senior Audit Manager - Listed Companies

    The Senior Audit Manager oversees and ensures that the project runs efficiently and profitably from inception to sign off, by managing all the relevant stakeholders in accordance with the Firm’s policies and procedures. The Senior Audit Manager further supports the Engagement Partner with clients' commercial management and business development initiatives.

    Reporting to the Audit Partner you will inter alia be responsible for:

    • Business Development
    • Negotiating budgets/fees and overruns for clients once fee base has been agreed with the partner
    • Managing WIP, write offs, fee queries and debtors
    • Ensure Timeous and accurate billing of clients
    • Accurate and Timeous planning of audits.
    • Management and the Execution of audits.
    • Managing staff movements on and off the job and timeously communicate to all relevant parties.
    • Manage and control staff allocations on audit project.
    • Ensure completion and finalisation of audits
    • Building of effective relationships with clients and staff.
    • Ensure Exceptional Client Service.
    • Decide on audit appropriateness of audit opinion by resolving issues which might impact on the audit opinion and ensuring that these are brought to the attention of the engagement partner and documentation thereof.
    • Manage the client and ensure that the project is delivered within the scope agreed on
    • Mentoring of trainees
    • Timeous completion of performance reviews

    Qualifications and Experience

    • CA(SA)
    • At least 4 years post articles experience (3 of which must be Management experience) with long term audit ambitions – partner/director
    • Must have listed companies experience

    VAT Compliance Consultant

    BDO has a vacancy for a VAT Compliance Consultant in its Johannesburg offices to provide support to management by virtue of managing VAT compliance-related work for clients, as well as any compliance processes and administrative tasks of the department and firm. Reporting to the VAT Manager you will inter alia be responsible for:

    • Developing and maintaining strong relationships with existing and prospective clients
    • Continuously looking for additional business opportunities and efficiencies
    • Assisting management in establishing the nature of clients' South African business activities and assessing the VAT implications pertinent thereto

    Qualifications and Experience:

    Tax Compliance Administrator

    BDO Johannesburg has a vacancy for a Tax Compliance Administrator for the Corporate Tax Compliance Department.  

    Qualifications:

    • Matric
    • Diploma in taxation an advantage

    Experience:

    • Minimum of 5 years’ experience as a Tax Compliance Administrator.
    • Experience in audit firm environment.
    • Preferably both individual and corporate compliance and technical experience.

    Responsibilities:

    • Responsible to manage the tax administration for a portfolio of corporate tax clients.
    • Manage the submission of the 1st and 2nd provisional tax calculations on Great Soft and e-filing.
    • Maintain client registered details on Great Soft and e-filing.
    • Apply for tax clearance certificates and tax residency certificates.
    • Apply for company deregistration at SARS.
    • Apply for extension of time for the IT14SD reconciliations.
    • Manage the SARS mailbox and correspondence.
    • Checking of income tax assessments.

    Competencies:

    IFRS Technical Manager - Financial Services

    BDO has a vacancy for an IFRS Technical Manager in our Financial Services Division.

    The primary purpose of the IFRS Technical Manager role is assistance to providing technical accounting support to audit and advisory teams (internally) as well as developing material and presenting training to external clients. Focus will be specifically on technical accounting matters impacting the Financial Services sector
    Principle Outcomes

    • Technical accounting consultations with audit teams/clients
    • Qualified technical accounting staff/client training
