Senior Software Developer

• Betting Entertainment Technologies (Pty) Ltd has an exciting opportunity available for a Senior Software Developer to be based in Umhlanga, Durban.

Key responsibilities:

• Design and implement MVC Web based projects.
• Be involved with planning meetings, documentations and testing.
• Use of Entity Framework, Bootstrap, Angular JS.
• Architecting multi tier applications.
• Take responsibility and understand software security features.
• Create WCF or WebAPI services communicating to web applications.
• Good eye for design and usability.
• Understanding high transactional environments.
• Undertake Code and peer reviews and understanding of design patterns.
• Manage the design, delivery and continuous improvement of IT solutions across the organization in support of increasing the organization’s levels of automation and innovation.
• Provide technical solutions to business requirement, manage expectation and ensure the delivered solution is fit for purpose and is delivered on time.
• Successfully develop, adapt and deliver Software solutions utilizing skills in software design, program design & development using the latest software development methodologies. Effectively document these solutions for maintenance and hand these over for support.
• Ensure that the stakeholders are completely aware of the effectiveness of the solution and are trained in the correct use of the delivered software.
• Report on Software project deliverables to ensure all stakeholders are kept up to date on progress and ensure that deadlines are met.
• Demonstrate strong communication skills, both verbal and written. Willingness to work overtime to ensure the delivery of projects assigned and communicate effectively when timelines are in danger of not being met.
• Mentor Junior and intermediate developers by periodically reviewing checked in code to ensure that the standards expected are met and the logic within the code base is sound.

Software Experience:

• C#, Entity Framework, MSSQL and MVC – Microsoft stack.
• Bootstrap, TDD (advantageous), Angular JS.
• A leader in setting up Design Patterns.

Work Experience:

• Experience in Visual Studio 2015 +, .NET Framework 4+, ASP. NET, SQL, AngularJS.
• Experience with multitier applications with high security.
• Experience with high volume public facing Web applications.
• 5+ years experience in a commercial environment.
• Strong C#, MVC skills.

DevOps Engineer

Betting Entertainment Technologies (Pty) Ltd is a large national Software development company seeking a strong DevOps Engineer to provide high quality technical support, and automation expertise on IT solutions. The primary objective is to influence the design and implementation of applications. Build, release, deployment and configuration activities. The position is to be based in Umhlanga, Durban.

Key responsibilities:

• Manage code releases and improve the performance of applications (both functional and deployment)
• Builds automated deployments using configuration management technology
• Deploys new modules, upgrades and fixes to environments across the SDLC
• Documents and completes knowledge transfer to support
• Validates deployments
• Take responsibility of tasks and projects assigned and make the necessary corrections to bring these projects into alignment with business expectation
• Report on Software project deliverables to ensure all stakeholders/ team leaders are kept up to date on progress and ensure that deadlines are met
• Willingness to work overtime to ensure the delivery of projects assigned and communicate effectively when timelines are in danger of not being met
• Demonstrate strong communication skills, both verbal and written 
• Any other related duties  

Work Experience:

• 3+ years’ experience working as a developer and/or DevOps engineer
• Thorough understanding of TDD, automated testing and testing tools
• Solid technical experience with SQL, C#.NET and web-based systems
• Good understanding of Agile and scrum processes
• Strong technical skills, preferable full-stack Microsoft technologies will be advantagous 
• Proven experience in database design
• Thorough understanding of automated builds and deployment automation 
• Experience with CI, automated testing, automated deployments, and Powershell will be beneficial
