    DC Manager

    Applications are invited for the above mentioned position. The successful incumbent will report to the Regional Distribution Manager: Coastal Region and will be based in Mthatha.

    Purpose Of The Position

    To lead a motivated and capable team of people at the distribution function in Mthatha, ensuring excellent service, the availability of quality products and the efficient and cost effective use of assets.

    Key Performance Areas For This Position Include

    • Manage a service orientated Distribution operation where tactics, policies and procedures are aligned with Marketing, Sales, and customer requirements by effectively overseeing the Distribution Admin Control, Warehouse, Site Services, Security, Customer Deliveries, Bottle sorting and Merchandising functions
    • Ensure the cost effective management of operations and the efficient utilization of assets.
    • Ensure the implementation and smooth running of the Management Operating System, Business planning, budgeting and Performance management processes.
    • Entrench a culture of innovation and business improvement in support of Functional and Corporate goals.
    • Ensure that adequate and correct infrastructure and facilities are in place.
    • Manage, evaluate, control and maintain all aspects relating to risk, losses and legal requirements
    • Ensure that administrative and commercial functions adhere to the required quality standard.

    The Successful Candidate Must Meet The Following Requirements

    • Commerce related Diploma / Degree or equivalent
    • 5 years’ experience in a Warehouse or Distribution function of which 2 years must have been in a leadership position
    • Extensive understanding of Distribution and warehouse principles and practices, both strategically and tactically
    • The ability to identify, define and effectively solve problems
    • Sound decision making skills
    • Have the ability to plan realistically (1-3yrs) and take action to deliver on time
    • Have the ability to analyse and interpret financial and statistical data.
    • Sound knowledge of IR practices and the management of discipline.
    • A team player with the ability to lead, influence and manage people with agility.
    • Proven experience of MS Office and SAP
    • A valid and unendorsed driver’s licence
    • Must be resident in Mthatha

    Digital Studio Controller

    We require the services of a Digital Studio Controller and Administrator to be based in our New Germany Trade Marketing Office, reporting to the Regional Activity Planning Manager in New Germany.
    Key performance areas would include, but are not limited to:

    • Ensuring the smooth operation of the Design studio by adhering to and implementing minimum standards, systems and time lines
    • Exercise care of Company’s assets including all Digital studio equipment, stock and Brand artwork; with the correct Brand artwork to be communicated and approved with sign off by the relevant Trade Marketing and Brand teams
    • Be the custodian of Distell’s Brands
    • Understanding and experience of Coral Draw and Photoshop
    • Strict adherence to the Company’s work quality standards including the initiative to develop and implement a Coastal Design Toolkit including but not limited to design and communication of generic templates for events, promotions, activations, presentations, initiatives, calendar occasions and displays
    • Establish minimum requirements for the Design Studio to be cost effective whilst providing a superior service to all stakeholders, including the operating and maintenance of the in-house Roland printer
    • Manage Digital Studio budget whilst continually benchmarking against the external design industry for standards and costing, including control of adequate stock levels of studio consumables (e.g. printer cartridges, vinyl, paper, etc), and ensuring control measures in place including stock sheets and monthly stock takes
    • Ensure timeous execution of all requisitions with weekly job card presented to line manager and communicated to the Region to share Studio capacity on a weekly basis
    • Be creative, imaginative and energetic with an understanding of corporate identity
    • Ensure the Company housekeeping standards are strictly adhered to
    • Have proven flair for Design and colour
    • Have good communication skills with an ability to communicate with all levels of management
    • Be able to self-manage, prioritise and be deadline driven with the ability to work under pressure
    • Be interested in art and design with knowledge of soft and hardware
    • An understanding of distinctive logos and corporate identity materials for products and businesses
    • The ability to brainstorm and mock up designs and marketing ideas
    • Be able to present ideas to Management and clients
    • Support the Trade Marketing department with ad hoc administrative support

    The Successful Candidate Must Have The Following Experience/skills

    • Diploma or previous proven training in graphic design
    • Have a current portfolio and proven artistic flair with a high level of creativity
    • Experience on Coral Draw, creative suite, CS 6 (PC based)
    • 3 – 5 years experience in a studio environment would be advantageous
    • Computer literate on the PC based systems
    • Experience in Digital Media and Litho
    • Excellent communication skills
    • Excellent admin skills
    • The ability to work independently, and under pressure, as well as be a team player
    • A desire to achieve beyond expectations
    • Experienced with ordering print materials within budget areas
    • An excellent eye for visual design, layout, and typography
    • Be able in creating original content and identities from start to finish
    • Familiarity across a wide range of online platforms
    • Strong leadership and self-management
    • Can switch gears quickly to adapt to the needs of a situation in a fast - paced environment
    • Professional and confident communicator
    • Versatility - feel comfortable on and off the computer and having brainstorming sessions
    • Willingness to share created work & streamline and implement new procedures.

    Warehouse Co-ordinator (Boksburg)

    Applications are invited for the above-mentioned position to be based in the Boksburg Warehouse. The successful candidate will report to the Warehouse Manager.
    Key Performance Areas Include (but Are Not Limited To

    • Achieving and maintaining high levels of customer service by adhering to service level agreements.
    • Effective supervision of staff (Checkers, Forklift Drivers, General Workers and workforce staff).
    • Exercising effective stock control:
    • Supervising and controlling the receipt and despatch of products;
    • Controlling both physical- and system stock movements;
    • Completing, recording and filing of transactions and documents;
    • Assisting with stock takes.
    • Execute daily cycle counts
    • Controlling operating costs (e.g. overtime work).
    • Controlling forklift-truck maintenance.
    • Exercising control over the sorting of leakers, breakages and other waste/losses.
    • Ensuring adherence to warehousing procedures.
    • Ensuring effective quality management of finished goods.
    • Ensuring compliance to ICC, ISO, HACCP and related audit standards.
    • Maintaining housekeeping and safety standards.
    • Working overtime and shifts when required.
    • Performing stand-in duties when required.
    • Active participation in Mini-Business activities (Mission Directed Work Teams).

    The Successful Candidate Must Have The Following Experience/skills

    • Minimum of a Matric Certificate (Grade 12) plus a tertiary qualification within the Logistics/Warehousing study fields
    • At least 3 years relevant working experience within a warehousing environment.
    • Working knowledge of relevant standard operating procedures and work instructions would be preferable.
    • Competent in the use of SAP and Microsoft Office (MS Word, MS Excel, MS Outlook).
    • Good verbal and written communication skills in English.
    • Strong administrative aptitude.
    • Persuasiveness and ability to influence activities outside direct area of control.
    • Ability to prioritize a wide range of tasks.
    • Flexibility and ability to perform under pressure.
    • Ability to function independently and work well within a team.
    • Sound interpersonal skills and experience in the supervision of staff
    • Willingness and ability to work shifts and extended hours when required.
