    Process Manager - Witbank

    PURPOSE

    This position exists to ensure the achievement of business objectives through contract execution and growth, executing strategic management and operational excellence, while ensuring contractual objectives are met.

    RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Contract Management
    • Interprets, implement and manage the contract.
    • Liaise with client representative regarding overall plant performance and quality standards.
    • Ensure healthy and mutually beneficial relationship is maintained with client.
    • Manage the contract regarding volumes, quality and other specifications relevant to the final product.
    • Advises senior managers of any, risks, opportunities, scope changes, etc.
    • Agree on month end quantities and ensure invoices are submitted and signed off timeously.
    • Customer Relations Management
    • Ensure collaboration, continuous engagement, building and sustaining of relationships with clients.
    • Ensure delivery of quality service to clients and that SLA are adhered to
    • maintain client satisfaction.
    • Facilitate with management, peers, subordinates and clients to ensure that there is common alignment among all stakeholders.

    SHEQ Management

    • Ensure site is aligned with Fraser Alexander SHEQ strategy, objectives and plans.
    • Implement controls to meet compliance with legislation, Fraser Alexander policies, including ESG and ensure alignment with client SHEQ programs.
    • Assess site SHEQ performance through formal audits.
    • Proactively prevent substandard practices.
    • Ensure closing out of all findings, improvements and deviations on time.

    • Manages critical spares and stock account.
    • Ensure that breakdowns and delays are kept to a minimum.

    Requirements

    QUALIFICATIONS

    • B-Tech, B-Degree, Extractive Metallurgy or Chemical Engineering or any other relevant degree

    EXPERIENCE

    • 5-10 years’ experience in a beneficiation plant
    • A minimum 5 years as a Process Foreman or Plant/Process Metallurgist.

    Superintendent

    RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Business/Functional Management
    • Ensure operational execution in their section aligns to
    • Organizational direction, as provided by senior superintendent
    • Execute operation for their section to support effective delivery of the project, in support of sustainability of the broader business.
    • Financial, commercial & contract Management
    • Monitor and control the cost of material and equipment and recommend and implement cost effective solution and proposal for the intended project.
    • Compare plant and labor cost against budget
    • Complete all financial reporting requirement and administration
    • Risk management & compliance. Incl.  ESG responsibility
    • Ensure all financial, technical and operational risk and opportunities relating to their area of responsibility are identified and mitigating actions implemented and monitored; as well as aligning all stakeholders as is relevant, for their area of responsibility; elevate risks as appropriate
    • Ensure strict compliances to SHEQ policies, procedures and legislation, to ensure the company’s responsibility is met.
    • Stakeholder Management (internal/external)
    • Ensure professional interaction with client and stakeholders, at junior to middle management level.
    • Engage with peers and seniors on the project in support of management alignment towards achievement of project objectives.
    • Operations & Project Management
    • Supply technical input where necessary and possible
    • Supply information when direct liaison with the client or management is required
    • Carry out work-study exercises and investigate alternative methods
    • Management Operating System & Reporting
    • Put appropriate control in place at point of execution, to
    • Inform management information, and to take corrective action immediately if there are deviation to plan

    Technical management

    • Responsible for setting and adherence to technical
    • Standards and work methods, for their section, in accordance with organizational and client requirements policies, procedure and legislation.

    SHEQ Management

    • Responsible for setting and adherence to technical
    • Standards and work methods, for their section in accordance with organizational and client requirements, policies and legislation.

    Staff Management

    • Ensure that labors on site are kept informed of any issue that may concern them, e.g retrenchment, paid/unpaid public holidays, transport etc, by attending regular meetings with labor representatives.

    Culture & Climate

    • Ensure a positive work environment is maintained for all
    • Internal and subcontracting stuff on site.

    Requirements

    Qualification

    • National diploma in civil or mining/ metallurgical/ industrial engineering or equivalent
    • BTech in civil or mining/ metallurgical Engineering or equivalent preferred.

    Experience

    • At least 2 to 3 years tailings deposition experience working in a mining/ tailing's environment
    • At least 1 – 2 years in a supervisory capacity preferable, or the monitoring and controlling of production activities.

    Skills, Qualities and Abilities Required

    • Solid understanding of the mining industry with specific emphasis on tailings business
    • Knowledge and understanding of the national legislation, standards and bylaws applicable to tailings business.
    • Excellent knowledge and understanding of technical and operational aspects core to the tailings industry, first time supervision – management and application.

    General workers

    RESPONSIBILITIES

    Work with team leader / supervisor to achieve planned operational targets. Perform inspections on designated area of responsibility every day. Planning and managing of tailings material on site and at depositing areas. Assist with the problems solving on operational challenges and report any deviations to the immediate supervisor. Adhering to discipline procedures in accordance with the Company’s Policies and Procedures. Adhere to all safety rules and regulations as per all safety legislation and company procedures. Extension and connecting of pipelines . Opening and closing of valves in line with operational lines Take responsibility for your performanceEnsure good housekeeping at all times

    Requirements

    QUALIFICATIONS

    • Grade 12 or Equivalent

    EXPERIENCE

    • 0 – 2 years relevant experience in an earth moving or familiar environment

    REQUIREMENTS

    • Tailings Dam Operation background / experience in the mining or related industry for at least 2 years will be advantageous
