    Operator: Parks and Cemetries

    Requirements:

    • Grade 10
    • Grade 12 will be an added advantage
    • Machine Operator Competency Certificate
    • Relevant grass cutting and grounds man experience
    • Experience in operating small grass cutting machines
    • Training with regard to working with herbicides and pesticides
    • Understanding of spares and operating manuals of grass cutting machines will be an added advantage

    Key Performance Areas:

    Manager: Facilities

    Requirements:

    • Grade 12
    • A relevant Degree or National Diploma in Facilities Management, Property Management, Built Environment, Hospitality, or an equivalent qualification
    • Minimum of eight (8) years’ relevant experience, of which at least three (3) years must be at a supervisory or management level
    • Proven knowledge of: Municipal environment and operations, Asset and facilities management, Occupational Health and Safety legislation, Supply Chain Management and contract management

    Chief Of Fire

    Requirements:

    • Grade 12
    • National Diploma in Fire Technology
    • Computer Literacy and proficient in MS Word, Excel and Power Point
    • Code C Driver’s License
    • Seven (7) to Ten (10) years relevant experience in all functions of fire department, of which five (5) years must be in middle management capacity
    • Good presentation and project management skills.

    • Ensure effective, timely, and coordinated response to fires and emergencies

    Artisan: Energy Operation, Maintenance & Metering

    Requirements:

    • Grade 12 and or N3
    • Trade Test as Electrician
    • Computer Literacy
    • Code C1 Driver’s License with PDP or PDP to be obtained within 6 months from date of appointment
    • Three (3) years relevant experience after completion of Trade Test
    • Good knowledge of maintenance on electrical distribution services.
    • Good communication, interpersonal and conflict management skills.

    • Installation and maintenance of mini-substation, ring main units and substations.
    • Investigate electrical problems and perform necessary trouble shooting to find the fault.

    Assistant Artisan (Facilities Maintenance)

    Requirements:

    • Grade 10
    • Basic Literacy
    • Relevant experience in facilities, building, or civil maintenance will be an added advantage
    • Basic knowledge of building and civil maintenance activities
    • Code EB drivers’ license
    • Ability to use hand tools and basic maintenance equipment

    Foreman: Facility Maintenance

    Requirements:

    • Grade 12 or equivalent technical qualification
    • 3-5 Years’ experience in a similar environment
    • One (1) year supervisory experience
    • Valid Code B Driver’s License
    • Good oral and written communication skills

    Building Control Officer

    Requirements:

    • Grade 12
    • National Diploma in Building Science
    • Five (5) years relevant experience preferably with local government
    • Knowledge of Town Planning Ordinances, Financial Regulations, Procedures and Budgeting

    • Develop the technical understanding of emerging contractors on specific applications, procedures and subsequences applicable to building, constructing and maintenance work.
