Who are we?
Sanlam Life and Savings (SLS) is focused on serving our retail and corporate clients in South Africa and further developing our strategic advantages in the South African market. Sanlam Life and Savings consists of three clusters - Sanlam Corporate, Sanlam Retail Mass and Sanlam Retail Affluent. The Sanlam Life and Savings Office provides strategic direction, coordination and support to the three clusters, as well as performing governance oversight that includes assurance provided by second line of defense functions in SLS, to enable us to meet our business objectives.
What will you do?
This role exists in our Sanlam Retail Mass Compliance function where we focus on the provision of assurance to the Sanlam Retail Mass Boards and Senior Management as well as within the Sanlam Group via various other functionaries. In this position you will work with the compliance officers in the team.
What will make you successful in this role?
You will be required to:
Monitor compliance with applicable legislation and internal requirements
Research and gather information on new legislation
Analyse proposed new legislation and provide input
Review client facing documentation to ensure alignment with legislative requirements
Present on legislative requirements and promote compliance culture
Manage legislative training and testing as required in terms of e.g. FAIS, FICA, PPR & POPIA
Assist with reporting, resolution and tracking of breaches and other compliance and regulatory issues
Assist in developing, promoting, implementing and maintaining compliance standards and procedures that enable employees to act in a compliant manner
Assist with incident reporting, to ensure timeous escalation of compliance risks and incidents
Qualification and Experience
Applicable qualification as required for FAIS Compliance Officer registration (Legal or commercial degree will be advantageous)
Compliance Practitioner designation (CPrac), Compliance Certificate, Regulatory Exam (RE1) or a relevant tertiary qualification would be advantageous.
An understanding and knowledge of the regulatory requirements impacting on insurance industry (e.g. PF Act, FAIS, FICA, LTIA, PPR, POPIA) will be advantageous.
Computer literate in MS Office which includes Microsoft Word, Excel & PowerPoint

What will you do?
Responsible for handling a variety of moderately complex assigned legal projects. Acts as counsel on issues involving company compliance with moderately complex governmental and regulatory standards. Reviews legal documentation and provides advice on appropriate action. Coordinates legal matters requiring external legal assistance. May provide work leadership and mentoring to less experienced attorneys. May also participate in corporate affairs, corporate governance, and legal watch. You will form part of the Legal Team, reporting into the Head of Legal and Compliance, you will work across the SanFin business on varied matters in SSS, SEMPM, SPM and SCM.

Assisting, where necessary, in the negotiation of transactions and offering legal advice on the structuring of financial transactions across the business sectors within SCM, including Debt, Properties, Empowerment Financing and Equities.
The drafting and checking of all agreements, including OTC (Over the Counter) derivative instruments documented in terms of ISDA, and other types of Master Agreements
Ensuring implementation of transactions (from cradle to the grave) in accordance with Credit approvals.
Keeping SCM up to date with changes in the statutory and common law as far as it relates to SCM and its business.

What will you do?
The purpose of the Scrum master is to be an Agile Project/Delivery manager and Scrum Master for the BI Platform team. The Scrum Master will be considered a subject-matter expert in delivery management, have excellent logic and problem solving skills and a drive to make a difference. They will be responsible for enforcing the rules of Scrum, removing impediments from their team while promoting self-management and constantly improving our standards of work.

Responsibilities:
Structure, plan and deliver on a portfolio of BI platform initiatives.
Assemble delivery scrum teams as required to deliver on the portfolio of initiatives from BI platform and SGT resource pools.
Establish and manage team cadence throughout delivery lifecycle, facilitation of all scrum ceremonies.
Ensure the delivery teams and/or development teams are practicing the core agile principles of collaboration, prioritization, team accountability, and visibility.
Stakeholder management and playback, including product owners, executive sponsors and other external teams
Work closely with leadership to define and prioritise the platform portfolio and product backlog. Own the delivery roadmap.
Support execution team with resolution of roadblocks and interdependencies, managing risks and issues.
Support the leadership in bedding down and maturing the BI capability operating model (People and process)
Qualification and Experience:
Relevant qualification in Engineering or BSc IT preferable.
7+ years of Scrum Maste and Technical delivery leadership experience.
Relevant IT/project management certifications is advantageous.
Experience in a Dev Ops environment and leading the development automation .
Hands-on experience with software delivery life cycle and Agile/Scrum delivery management.
Experience in project management/Team lead roles mandatory.
Experience in delivering BI products preferable.
