    Learning Design Portfolio Manager

    Responsibilities:

    • Lead, mentor and grow a team of Senior Learning Designers and guide them in the management of their respective teams.
    • Champion a culture of learning among Senior Learning Designers and Learning Designers by coordinating and facilitating capacity development workshops, in collaboration with Senior Learning Designers.
    • Work with the Head of Product: Learning Design, Product Owner, Head of Student Success and Faculty leadership to design, test, develop and evaluate new and existing educational models and products.
    • Liaise with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders, including Learning Technology, Faculty, Student Success and Technology to ensure the effective and collaborative design and delivery of the product.
    • Serve as the primary point of contact and information for General Managers in your portfolio.
    • Initiate planning processes for new course development.
    • Work with project management and various operational stakeholders to ensure that deadlines are adhered to and that project communication takes place in a timely and effective manner.
    • Manage production planning with project management and Learning Technology team.
    • Manage the procurement of learning design resources.
    • Develop guidance documents and policies, and contribute to departmental process development and improvement.
    • Consistently stay up-to-date with curriculum updates across our portfolio of subjects.
    • Identify appropriate tools and software to improve the delivery of qualifications on the online learning campus.
    • Develop innovative pedagogical and blended online learning approaches.
    • Manage quality assurance processes, and work on evaluation strategies to review the effectiveness of design strategy.
    • Oversee the recruitment and onboarding of all Learning Design team members.

    Requirements

    • Knowledge of IEB, CAPs, and/or Pearson curriculums an advantage
    • Proven skills and experience in learning design and the development of student-centred digital learning experiences and resources
    • Knowledge of digital learning principles and practices, as well as current and future trends in digital technologies
    • Demonstrated project management skills in the development of digital content for online courses
    • Exercise discretionary judgment and negotiate for positive outcomes

    User Experience Designer

    Responsibilities:

    • Plan, prioritise, coordinate, and conduct the execution, and synthesis of user research and/ or usability testing.
    • Determine operational objectives by studying business functions; gathering information; evaluating output requirements and formats.
    • Drive persona, archetype, or mindset development, user journey/flow creation, and task analysis, with intermediate experience.
    • Design and specify user interfaces and information architecture using participatory and iterative design techniques, of requirements discovery.
    • Produce user requirements specifications, personas, storyboards, scenarios, flowcharts, design prototypes, and design specifications.
    • Effectively communicate research findings, conceptual ideas, detailed design, and design rationale both verbally and visually.
    • Manage the UX design process, drive decisions, track issues, and assist in estimating resource needs and schedules.
    • Work closely with the Systems and Technology (S&T) Department to ensure that design specifications are implemented.
    • Operate in cross-functional teams; including Learning Design, Project Management, and S&T.
    • Support planning, designing, facilitating, and synthesising workshops.
    • Provide clear, articulate rationale for design choices and approach.
    • Improves systems by studying current practices; designing modifications.
    • Recommend controls by identifying problems; writing improved procedures.
    • Collaborate with S&T to resolve issues and ensure solutions are viable, scalable and consistent.
    • Develop system guidelines and manuals.
    • Running training sessions and workshops on system processes.

    Requirements

    • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Internet Technologies, related field, or minimum of 4 years experience in a similar role
    • Proficiency with design and prototyping tools such as Adobe CS, Axure, Sketch, FramerJS, and a willingness to explore new tools
    • Knowledge of capabilities and limitations of web technologies such as HTML, JavaScript, and CSS
    • Knowledge of product development and management principles
    • Extensive experience in using UX design best practices to design solutions
    • Solid grasp of user-centred design and testing methodologies, subsystems, and usability and accessibility concerns.
    • Practical experience with usability testing
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
    • Excellent communication and strong interpersonal skills
    • Ability to present complex ideas simply
    • Extensive understanding of the agile development process and best practices
