    Modular Programme Developer

    Job description

    British American Tobacco have an exciting opportunity for a Modular Programme Developer to join our team in Heidelberg, South Africa. The role holder will have to design, develop and provide modular training programmes to contribute to performance enhancement and excellence of production staff within the Manufacturing Environment.

    Key success factors

    • Liaise with subject matter experts (project team) to determine the programme content
    • Analyse the required learning outcomes to determine the specific outcomes in terms of knowledge, skills, EHS and processes.
    • Arrange specific outcomes into meaningful learning units to give structure to the modular programme.
    • Develop the learning content and include photos and diagrams to enhance the learners' comprehension of the learning content.
    • Write programmes in first person, conversational style to create a friendly, conducive training environment.
    • Evaluate the programme content together with the subject matter experts to ensure factual validity.
    • Develop the assessment tool to assess the competence of the learners.
    • Arrange for the VTTC - approval of the modular programme, convert to PDF and upload onto the relevant website.
    • Arrange for the revision of modular programmes on a five-year cycle and update to ensure relevance of material at all times and/or react to ad hoc revisions as required.
    • Industry specific functional expertise will determine possible short term alternative deployment as might be required from time to time.

    Requirements

    • Standard 10 / Grade 12
    • Minimum two years of experience in a manufacturing environment.
    • Proficient in English Language
    • A qualification in a technical/mechanical field will get preference.
    • Any experience in a Training and Development environment will serve as an advantage.
    • Experience in a manufacturing environment of the Cigarette industry will serve as an advantage.

    • You will
    • Develop and execute an operational brand plan to meet brand objectives and customer requirements.
    • Create strategies that align to overall brand portfolio and business strategies and focus on achieving brand objectives.
    • Involve agencies in planning processes where appropriate.
    • Ensure brand executives are trained and motivated to analyse and support the development and implementation of brand programmes.
    • Propose goals and KPIs for brand programmes and track ongoing results.
    • Manage budgets and help to develop sales forecasts for allocated brand/s.
    • With a background in brand positioning and proposition development, you’ll have experience of leading the creation of effective brand marketing programmes and cross category marketing. You’ll also have knowledge of developing trade communication programmes.
    • As a proven leader with the ability to motivate, coach and develop people, you’ll be used to co-ordinating large, diverse teams. Naturally, you’ll be an effective communicator and presenter with the presence to influence and negotiate effectively. With strong project management skills, you’ll also be a strategic thinker and a confident decision maker.
    • Ideally, you’ll have a business or marketing degree with a sound foundation in commerce and quantitative analysis. Brand marketing experience (5 to 8 years) gained in an FMCG environment, together with any trade marketing or key account management experience, would be a plus.
