    Market Developer

    • The main purpose of this role is to sustainably build the Mukuru Wallet & VAS business.
    • The Market Developer reports directly to the Market Development Manager. This position assists the Market Development Manager and is responsible for executing the Wallet & VAS strategy, identifying, and developing new business opportunities and managing existing business relationships. The Market Developer works across all areas of business as required to achieve the sustainable growth of their market.

    Duties And Responsibilities (Include But Is Not Limited To)

    Lead the acquisition of new customers, improve the retention of our existing customers and increasing the usage of our products by:

    • Being the Wallet & VAS champion for your assigned markets to gain share of mind and coordinate business activity in support of the Wallet & VAS strategy.
    • Building capability in sales and marketing teams
    • Working with and training the sales team on appropriate concept sells to open 1-to-many sales opportunities.
    • Ensuring that marketing and sales correctly understand and communicate the right customer benefits and product features.
    • Overseeing and improving our distribution channels
    • Ensure the Wallet & VAS business is running smoothly by working with the Operations, Customer Service, Product, and other functions.
    • Manage the projects in line with the specified project plan.
    • Provide guidance and direction to project team members during the project.
    • Coordinate the project team’s activities and prioritize activities within projects.
    • Track the progress of all tasks related to the projects daily.
    • Identify any areas that are running behind schedule and address with the relevant stakeholder.
    • Identify where additional support or assistance may be required to ensure project timelines are met.
    • Ensure the project plans include targets and measures, resource requirements and planned activities.
    • Identify opportunities to expand product and services range offered
    • Ensure opportunities are strategically and legally viable
    • Present business case for opportunity for approval.

    If Approved

    • Make contacts in order to develop prospects and leads with various potential partners.
    • Negotiate with potential partners in order to obtain mutually beneficial signed contracts.
    • Implement the opportunity independently, or by working with a Project Manager

    Assist The Market Development Manager With

    • Developing the budgets and reporting on market performance
    • Conducting pricing reviews
    • Partner negotiations, commercial discussions and managing the ongoing relationships.
    • Keep abreast the current future market trends and industry changes.
    • Identify competitors and keep up to date on their business models (e.g. suppliers, platforms, pricing, product offerings, customer retention strategies, etc)
    • Attend weekly KPI meeting with Manager.
    • Attend monthly performance meeting with Manager.
    • Attend all required training courses for new products.

    Key Requirements

    • Grade 12 or equivalent (Essential)
    • Related Tertiary Qualification (Essential)
    • 2 Years of work experience (advantageous).
    • Experience in a business development role (advantageous)
    • Experience in Financial Services (Desirable)
    • Knowledge of payments and remittances
    • Knowledge the marketing and sales process (B2C & C2C).
    • Knowledge of contracts and commercial agreements
    • Knowledge of operating license requirements

    Senior Scrum Master

    • We are looking for an energetic, curious, self-starter to join our Mukuru team, as a Scrum Master. You will be required to facilitate the Scrum process, ensuring that members of the team follow through on their respective duties and responsibilities and play a key role in our continued adoption of agile methodology. Responsible for ensuring development teams adhere to Scrum framework values and agile practices, mentoring and motivating the teams to improve processes, facilitating meetings and decision-making. The Scrum Master reports directly to the Agile Coach.

    Duties And Responsibilities (include But Is Not Limited To)

    • To ensure the entire SCRUM process runs efficiently and effectively.
    • Facilitates and supports all scrum events: Sprint Planning, Daily Scrum, Backlog refinement, Sprint Review, and Sprint Retrospective.
    • To ensure that the SCRUM standards are adhered to.
    • To accurately report on the entire SCRUM process.
    • To manage own professional and self-development.
    • Provide continuous feedback to relevant stakeholders.
    • Monitor and manage the timelines and sprints and keep the team focused.
    • Ensure communication channels are optimised between all stakeholders.
    • Guides and coaches the Scrum Team on how to use Agile practices and principles to deliver high quality products and services to our customers.
    • Responsible for ensuring Scrum is understood and the team adheres to Scrum theory, practice, and guidelines.
    • Coaches the Scrum team in self-organisation, cross-functional skillset, domain knowledge and communicates effectively, both internally and externally working within the Scrum team.
    • Works with Scrum Team, as well as internal and external stakeholders, to influence and drive decision making and support organizational project or product teams.
    • Resolves team impediments with other Scrum Masters to increase the effectiveness of the application of Scrum in the organisation.
    • Contributes to the advancement and improvement of Agile practices within the organisation.

    Key Requirements

    • Grade 12 / or equivalent (Essential)
    • Relevant Tertiary qualification
    • Certified Scrum course completed (Essential)
    • 2-5 years’ experience as a Scrum Master (Essential)
    • Experience in financial services is an advantage
    • Knowledge of the Software Development Life Cycle
    • Knowledge of agile methodology, values and principles
    • Knowledge of the different frameworks (i.e. Scrum, Kanban etc.)
    • Understanding of story splitting, refinement, estimation, velocity, retrospection, and other Scrum techniques
